PorscheCooled Owner Stories #38 - Steven 1966 Porsche 912 and 996.1 Cabriolet

In today’s PorscheCooled Podcast Michael presents episode 38 of owner stories with Steven from Sydney Australia. Steven has always been a car guy even though growing up on an island in the Pacific where there were not many cars. Nonetheless, the cars that were imported there during the ‘70’s were special. As a kid Steven remembers seeing iconic Australian muscle cars been driven on the tiny mainly dirt roads on the island. This fuelled his passion. Fast forward a few years and Steven starting his career for Qantas in Sydney. During this time Steven regularly saw pilots’ cars parked including 930 turbos and Ferraris. This was love at first sight for Steven but like all of us at 17 it was always how do we get there? Steven’s car journey includes performance cars and bikes, his first memorable car being a Mazda RX4 - a car he raced. A Datsun 1600 rally car he owned with a friend followed. This was a car which Steven honed his driving skills. First Porsche? Well, that was a Macan S a few years back followed by his first 911, a 1998 911 Cabriolet. Recently Steven added another Porsche to his garage a 1966 SWB 912. Not just any 912, a 912 that was a 6 year labour of love for the previous owner. Steven is yet to see his ‘hot rod’ 912 as it was without a working engine and is in the process of being rebuilt to something even better than before.
