PorscheCooled Owner Stories #47 - Matt 996.1 Carrera 2 X51

In today’s PorscheCooled Podcast Michael presents episode 47 of owner stories with Matt from Victoria in Australia. Matt’s introduction to Porsche was seeing a ‘80s Carrera owned by a family friend. A rare sight at the time. From that moment on Matt knew he wanted a Porsche at some time in his life. Growing up Matt was always a car guy. His first car, a ’75 Mazda 929 was a car he loved for 10 years and modified to make it just right. Matt also has a passion for Renault Sport owning a Clio 182 Cup then a Clio R27, Matt really fell for the brand. A family car followed, with a Volvo T5, practical but still enthusiast orientated. Moving out of Melbourne Matt got the hankering again for a Renault. He now has a Clio 172 and Megane 250 cup. Matt likes to tweak the performance of his cars. Which he has done to both the Renaults. The two Renault’s now share the garage with his first and newly acquired Porsche. So how did the 911 come about? Well, whilst admiring a 911 turbo at his local shops Matt had a chance encounter with a Porsche enthusiast and neighbour. A few years later his now friend sold Matt his 1999 911 Carrera 2 in Arena red with the rare X51 power option. A Porsche Matt was now familiar with, and a car that was never really for sale. Matt couldn’t be happier.
