Southwest Breaks 57-Year Seating Tradition!

Southwest Airlines is bidding farewell to open seating and I don’t know how to feel about it. I’m Tomi Lahren, more next. Flight, in general, these days is rather nightmarish. If you’re lucky enough not to be delayed or cancelled, you may still fear parts and pieces of your aircraft could just up and fall off! And now a new controversy for air travel, Southwest Airlines is getting rid of its signature open seating policy in 2025. After 57 years, the tradition will end. Southwest cites customer attitudes as reason to make this change, saying feedback suggests 80-86% of travelers want to know where they are sitting beforehand. As a frequent Southwest customer, I have a love/hate relationship with open seating, mostly due to other customers who attempt to circumvent the boarding group, save seats, or pre-board for some unknown excuse. But what I’m really worried about is that this change could lead to more delays and chaos given this southwest model was created to speed things up and allow for more flexibility.
