Ep. 32- Let's discuss 3 Ways I’ve Failed as a Leader, Rode Podcaster Mic, and Committing to 1 Year Daily Show

In Episode 32 of Idea Diary - Today, I talk about three ways I have failed as a leader.

ONE: Create a disagree space - I feel like when working with teams give the consideration for anyone on the team to bring disagreements at any time to the table. Make sure that people that have disagreements also come to the disagreement meeting with SOLUTIONS options to discuss. You will need a jury, voting or outside tie-breaker person that everyone agrees on to help make decisions. Once the meeting happens, and the outcome decision is agreed upon, then everyone needs to be happy with the result. With any new business going forward working in groups, I will implement this practice.

TWO: Don’t let things go unsaid to keep the peace. Address things NOW to make sure everyone is happy faster. Trying to polite instead of working out issues is not really helping, and it’s actually nicer to just deal with stuff right away and get over it.

THREE: In the past, I went full speed ahead to achieved goals, and I wouldn’t slow down when others dropped balls. I would just pick up things that needed to get down, and plow through without addressing any problems. Now, I will stop and connect with the group to make sure if there is a problem to fix it first, then get back on track.

After one month of daily podcasting, I am committing to ONE YEAR of daily shows,. I am also committing to three years of making the show happen, even thought it might not be everyday after one year. I feel like that will be great test to see if a podcast just being yourself, all by yourself, could be something profitable and worthy of anyone’s time.
