23. After three children her pain became unbearable, painful sex, pelvic congestion syndrome, and neuropathy in her feet.
Lisa had pain early on and her guidance counselor in High School suggested it may be Endometriosis but soon after that Lisa was pregnant with her first child, not knowing what Endo was at this time she fought through her pain for many years until it began to be consistent daily. Second-guessing herself with three small children at home, she still knew something was off as her sex was very painful so she began to see a myriad of doctors. She had a diagnostic surgery and confirmed she, in fact, did have Endo. But after this surgery, she began to feel worse. She found an Endo specialist and was also diagnosed with Pelvic Congestion Syndrome...she had a procedure this..listen in to hear about it. Now she waits to have excision surgery as her procedure was canceled due to COVID-19. Want to keep the conversation going? 22. Dr. Nicholas Fogelson Endometriosis expert; talks all things endo, gives us a peak behind the medical curtain.
I asked Dr. Fogelson to come on the podcast as I see he is very active on social media and his compassion for helping people who suffer from Endo, he not only wants to help educate but is down to Earth and very straight forward about why it is hard to get medical care for Endo. Dr. Fogelson provides expert level gynecologic surgery and endometriosis care in Portland, OR at Northwest Endometriosis and Pelvic Surgery. He came on to answer all of my questions about Endo, the medical field, and why doctors do not understand Endo and people who have it. We had a very candid and honest conversation that I believe everyone should listen to if you have Endo. 21. Endo warrior, (MS) Masters of Science & (RD) Registered Dietitian. She provides us tips for endo & shares her story.
Lily lives in Sunny, California. She is a Registered Dietitian and a Masters of Science!! (She is wicked smart!) I was very excited to chat with her because I have questions about diet, exercise, and products that people with Endo should use to help ease our inflammation. If you want to listen to Lily's tips skip to 52:00. * Trigger warning, fertility, miscarriage, pregnancy discussed in this episode. I asked Lily to share her journey first before we got into her advice. Lily has stage II Endo. Her pain started early on and was very severe on the first day of her period. She went on birth control for many years, and her period did not come back for 2 years. Once it did return she was not in a great deal of pain but it did begin to build a few years later. Her symptoms intensified but she thought this was normal. In her late 20's she wanted to begin to grow her family this is when she really started to notice that something was off. An ectopic pregnancy leads her to her Endo diagnosis after she had a miscarriage 8 months prior. At this point, she still did not really understand what Endo means. Listen in to hear her full journey, and how she is going to have excision surgery soon. Want to keep the conversation going? 20. Diagnosed with IBS, Kidney Infection she was misinformed about endo for years.
** please excuse the sound hiccups, the Wifi in Kuwait was a bit weaker at this time. Always learning and trying to get better with the podcast and audio. Thank you for understanding! Jen was on birth control for many years due to pain with her period at a young age. She had bowel issues for as long as she can remember and was diagnosed with IBS and following that when her pain was not going away a kidney infection. Listen to her story and misinformation that her doctor told her. She had back to back surgeries (ablation) three procedures in two years. She did say it did help reduce her symptoms. She has adenomyosis as well. On her 4th surgery, the doctor sees endo on her bowel. She is not warned about how serious this can be. She tried six IVF procedures after this surgery. Her bowel pain became unbearable. Listen in to hear her journey. Want to keep the conversation going? Join our Facebook Group: tiny.cc/7mpbnz Thank you for listening and supporting this podcast.
