Don’t Fear, Truly God Is With Us The Unconditional Hope- Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Don’t Fear, Truly God Is With Us The Unconditional Hope- Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

One of the key sunnas of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is that he was always positive and full of hope in Allah Most High. It didn’t matter what was happening to him or around him, the Prophet’s positive attitude and hope were unconditional. In this Friday khutba, Shaykh Faraz Rabbani highlights Allah’s call to all believers to have unconditional hope. He explains how the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) maintained unconditional hope in Allah.

Shaykh Faraz points out that most people are hopeful only when matters seem to go according to their plan or seem to be in their control. However, he explains that the reason behind the Messenger’s unconditional hope was the complete realization that ultimately all matters are absolutely in Allah’s control. Allah is the Lord who is absolutely Merciful, Caring and Cherishing.

Shaykh Faraz encourages us to place our trust and hope in Allah and call upon Him while bringing to our consciousness those meanings. He calls us to not at all have fear or lose hope about how things are. Allah promises in the Qur’an that “whoever places their trust in Allah, then Allah is their sufficiency” [Surat al-Talaq, verse 3]. Therefore, to the extent one places their trust in Allah, to that extent He will be sufficient for them.

Shaykh Faraz counsels us to have trust and hope in Allah by seeking the good from Him and then taking the means to attaining that good. Whether the matter is personal, communal or global, one should first direct themselves towards Allah and asking Him for the good.

Finally, Shaykh Faraz highlights lessons from the hijra (migration) of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as an example of true hope in Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) took the means outwardly to perform the migration. And all while there were multiple dangers on the way, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had absolute trust in Allah and reassured Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) with what was revealed to him from The Lord of the worlds, “fear not, for Allah is with us”.

This Friday khutba was delivered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani in March 2017 at the the Jame Masjid Oakville, Noor-ul-Haram.

The Key to Loving Allah – Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

The Key to Loving Allah – Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Shaykh Faraz Rabbani explains and reflects on an aphorism by Imam al-Shadhili: “The truest of statements with Allah Most High, is there is no God but God (la ilaha illa Allah) upon purity. And the first of actions to be upon the love of Allah Most High is to hate worldliness, and to have no hope from the people of this world while being in conformity with them.” Shaykh Faraz explains the virtues of affirming Divine oneness (la ilaha illa Allah). He counsels everyone to make much remembrance of that statement. He also reflects that through leaving love of the perishing world, one moves towards loving Allah Most High. Salawat: Make Allah your Sponsor by Reflecting His Mercy – Shaykh Faid Mohammed Said

Salawat: Make Allah your Sponsor by Reflecting His Mercy – Shaykh Faid Mohammed Said

“There has come to you from Allah a Light…” (Surah Al-Ma’idah, 15) Bismillah-ir Rahman-ir Raheem No one is exempt from the Mercy of Allah (subhana wa ta’ala)! “Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (Surah Az-Zumar, 53) The reflection of His Mercy is His Nur – the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wasalam) – who was not sent other than as a “Mercy to all the worlds.” (Surah Al-‘Anbiya, 107). And how can we reflect this Mercy? By sending Salawat (prayers and salutations) upon the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wasalam)! “Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [ Allah to grant him] peace.” (Surah Al-‘Ahzab, 56) Allahumma salli alaa Nur. May we all be connected to The Nur, in the now and forever! Jummah Mubarak! Connecting with the Qur’an: Recognizing the Benefits of the Short and Virtuous Verses and Suras – Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Connecting with the Qur’an: Recognizing the Benefits of the Short and Virtuous Verses and Suras – Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

In this Friday sermon, Shaykh Faraz reminds the believers the importance of connecting with the Qur’an, especially with the short verses and chapters that are oft recited. The Qur’an is a gift from Allah Most High for those who are mindful of Him. The entirety of the Qur’an contains guidance for all of creation.  Certain verses of the Qur’an are keys to guidance. The shorter chapters and verses are some keys which encapsulate meanings of the entire Qur’an. Shaykh Faraz goes on to remind the believers to constantly review the verses in the Qur’an that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) recited in his prayer upon waking at night (Surat Aal Imran, verses 190-200). This will help with one’s connecting to the Qur’an. He ends by reminding the believers that the good of creation comes about by connecting to the Qur’an.
