England Footballer, Art Dealer & Rob on Investment, Cars, Watches Art & Podcasting [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

Kieran Richardson and Steven Sulley: Interview on the love of cars and watches High-end watches, art and cars can be a great investment, that can withstand any recession. In this episode, Rob talks with Steven Sulley, and former professional footballer Kieran Richardson about their shared love for all things art, cars and watches. They talk through about how to get into each market, what to look for when investing your cash and how it's all about passion. If you’re thinking of investing in assets to gain a return or you just love watches this is the episode for you. Key Takeaways How did you get into podcasts, Steven? I’d done the progressive property podcast training and thought I’d done a lot of public speaking anyway, so I’d enjoy it. It gives you validation to your brand. The trickle effect means I get to meet people, and it hopefully helps my business. Kieran talks through his motivation from talking with his friends on WhatsApp to start his own podcast. Some of the best podcasts are those that are just conversations. In the football world, did you feel the media sometimes misrepresented you, Kieran? Definitely sometimes, and it’s not always true but the public read it and think its true. Now, footballers have their own social media and can control it better. If you are on a podcast you can reach millions of people without editing. We all have an interest in watches? You know if you have a Patec then there are certain things you know about that person. Kieran stated he had been collecting watches for seventeen years for the love of them. I buy them for the look rather than their function. I fell into selling watches to people and making people face smile. I love it. The moment someone has a watch that you recognise the conversation can start from there. We are all making a statement of who we are. So we try and meet other people who are into the same things as we are and can have a conversation with others. Just from a watch, you learn so much about someone. You can have a free watch because it goes up in value. Buy it for x amount and sell it for more. You can make money on them if you buy at the right time and the right brand. If you want to get into watches, what would you do? Kieran stated Rolexes are a solid investment. Rolex Daytona can really increase in their price over time. Paul Newmans, Paul Newman was worth 17 million, and it wasn’t even in good condition. You need to find someone credible, who can open up the watch and check its authenticity. Get a service receipt so you have clarification that it’s real. The value goes down without box and papers. You have to be passionate about it, so you can track the market. My money came from football? I’m lucky enough to buy watches through football. Sometimes you have to graft, so then you can do what you want to do. My father and my mom throughout my life they have owned several businesses and I’ve seen that through my family. I’ve always been into business. Footballers don’t know what to do often when they retire and the PFA don’t really do anything to support you. Once you start making a decent amount of money you stop thinking about the future. Kieran is not officially retired but if I got fit I could play in the Premier League. I have two young children and don’t want to go around the world. Some footballers still want to play until they were 40. I got to retire on my own terms. What’s your favourite modern car? Aventador, or F40, and F50. Aventador took Lamborghini to another level that looked more futuristic. Audi is helping in the building of it, so it is a tight car. We love both Ferrari and Lamborghini, especially vintage Ferrari. Some of these cars are built for the track Why do you think higher-end cars have gone up in value, and then dropped more recently? No one really knows cars have definitely dropped. Things go up and down all the time. Great cars will always come back around. If you wanted to buy a car? Limited production, and getting the right brand. Some Mercedes lose value straight off the lot. Definitely, buy the right brands. A car that they don’t make any more for example. Cars have got a service history. Paying someone who has the experience to check over the car is essential. What about art, what things to do you look for? You have to be an expert in a specific strategy in the market. As far as investment is concerned to ask three questions: is the artist backed by a museum, gallery/agency and an art dealer? If it’s yes to all three, then you’re probably on for a winner. We deal in contemporary street art. These paintings are going for hundreds of a million. How do you get into painting? You have originals, which is about quality. The shadow head would be around 40-50K. From canvas to paper goes down in value. The limited editions, copies are going for 100’s of thousands. It’s all about supply and demand, 100 is not a lot of copies from one artist. Some people buy the copies and have the real one in storage. What is your motivation for buying art? That’s the most important question when I speak to my clients. There is a different purchase if it’s a pure investment, or if it’s a decoration or if it fits into their portfolio. If you don’t have the courage to spend tens of thousands a good limited edition is a solid place to start. Some people like to go big, it depends on your appetite for risk. Best Moments ‘Some of the best podcasts are just two people having a conversation.’ ‘Podcasts allow you to reach millions of people without editing.’ ‘The first thing I look at when I meet someone is their watch.’ ‘Watches are like art, it’s all about the education.’ ‘Your buying into something more than tells the time, the heritage, history and intimate.’ ‘A watch is a statement of who you are.’ ‘I don’t want to lose my money.’ ‘I like to use them, get into them and drive them and wear my watches.’ ‘Especially with vintage, people like the history.’ ‘There is more doubt if you are buying a watch without box and papers can be seen as not credible.’ ‘Rolex and all these brands put up their price every year.’ ‘The best investment is the one that you are really into.’ ‘You got to enjoy what you do.’ ‘Not everyone has that guidance to buy this and invest in this.’ ‘The best time to plan for future is when it’s going well.’ ‘Treat your contract like it was your last contract.’ ‘You have got to get yourself educated.’ ‘It’s almost about the correct numbers and brands.’ ‘History repeats themselves.’ ‘The big growth with artists after their death is after five years.’ ‘Build up slowly, let it grow.’ ‘Depends on your appetite for risk.’ ‘There is no correlation between different investment assets.’ ‘If you can be disciplined, and hold.’ [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors] VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter https://robmoore.com/podbooks rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. From Debt to Decamillionaire: Rob's Unconventional Success Formula

From Debt to Decamillionaire: Rob's Unconventional Success Formula

Rob is interviewed by Mike Greene on the Success is a System Podcast. They discuss controversial topics like the flaws of traditional education, why you must balance being selfish and selfless in business and managing your ego. Mike explains why you must commit fully and make big decisions to achieve your goals against all odds. Rob and Mike also analyse misunderstood thought leaders like Andrew Tate, the trap of needing to be loved by everyone, and why personal wealth creation lets you live life on your own terms. Rob Reveals: University delays entrepreneurship and puts you in debt with no guarantees of a good job Be selfish at first to escape debt and make your first £100K, then focus on adding value to others The purpose of life is to self-actualise and become the best version of yourself through lifelong learning To be a great mentor, provide the right balance of support and challenge tailored to each person Polarizing figures like Andrew Tate get people to take action by being extremely challenging You must be equally loved and hated to become very successful and well-known Governments can’t manage money properly - entrepreneurs should run countries like companies To “dance” with the universe, you must accept universal laws like you’ll always have critics BEST MOMENTS "I became a millionaire just under 31 and a decamillionaire age 35...that was a long time ago." "When I die, no one’s gonna give a fuck how much money I made. They’re gonna care how many people I impact." "If everyone could become successful at something, everyone would do something and no one would do anything else and species would die out." Rob's Guide to Ruthless Productivity

Rob's Guide to Ruthless Productivity

Get your productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency into high gear with this episode with Rob. He lays out the keys to ruthlessly prioritising your most important task in the moment, maximising the leverage of your time, and how to avoid procrastination. Rob pushes you to be fully present, maintain focus, and align your activities to move the needle on income generation! Rob Reveals: There is only one spontaneous "right action" task you should be doing at any time. Measure priority tasks by income generation and fear/difficulty level. Being productive is output volume; being effective is the quality of output. Lists create overwhelm; pick one priority item and fully focus on executing it. Challenge yourself and others when conversations enable procrastination. Planning helps the future but stay present; ask "What's most important right now?" You can't blame others for distraction without your permission. BEST MOMENTS "Procrastination is not being able to control an emotion." "So eat the, eat the frog. He wrote a book called eat that frog. And eat the frog means the very thing you don't want to do that you've been putting off, you do it immediately." "It matters, is this the right phone number for the phone call I'm gonna do now? And, am I gonna give them my full attention? "People are not what they say. People are what they do. And that's not a criticism. It's just what it is." "I want you to do those because the more money you make and I'm not gonna pay you more money if I don't make more money." 45 Hard Life Lessons on my 45th Birthday & Brutal Life Lessons From an Ageing Man - Part 2

45 Hard Life Lessons on my 45th Birthday & Brutal Life Lessons From an Ageing Man - Part 2

Listen in to this episode for part 2 of Rob's brutal life lessons! Rob reveals the second half of the many lessons he has learnt in business and life including his famous mantra, 'if you don't risk anything, you risk everything'! Rob Reveals: 24. If you wait for permission, you will never get started. 25. People will criticise you anyway so you just do you. 26. Face problems head-on, and work out the solutions. 27. You don't get what you want, but what you 'are'. 28. If you do not tell people you are struggling, then you will suffer alone. 29. Trust but double check. 30. It never gets easier, you have to get better, and then it will feel easier. 31. Your reward for solving a problem is a bigger problem. 32. People will always let you down if you think it's their job to lift you up. 33. Before you try and change others, first check yourself. 34. If you don't get over your past relationships, the baggage will ruin your new ones. 35. Real leadership is finding a solution when everyone else thought there wasn't one. 36. If you don't make money whilst you sleep you will be making working until you die. 37. Unless you own your past, your past will always own you. 38. Own money, don't let money own you. 39. Money isn't everything but everything is better with money. 40. Working hard is not enough to be successful. 41. It's better to have tried and lost than to never experience at all. 42. There are human laws and universal laws, understand the difference. 43. If you fight against what is, then it is not. 44. Fake is becoming so acceptable that people get offended when you keep it real. 45. If you don't risk anything you risk everything! BEST MOMENTS "Beg for forgiveness don't ask for permission" "You do not get what you want, you get what you are" "I used to sometimes resent people for not checking in that I was ok, to not be able to read my mind" "Things only become easier when you get better at them" "New level, new devil" "Be the change you want to see" "Passive income used to be a luxury now it's a necessity" "Money is important, money is a tool" VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team Episode Sponsor - AG1 Claim your exclusive offer of AG1 at the link below drinkag1.com/disruptors ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. 45 Hard Life Lessons on my 45th Birthday & Brutal Life Lessons From an Ageing Man - Part 1

It’s Rob’s birthday and in celebration, he wanted to share 45 brutal life lessons that he has learnt over the years. This is part 1, where Rob discusses why there is beauty in brutality and reveals the first 23 of the lessons he has learnt in business and life. Rob Reveals: Honest people will lie to you if the lie is easier than telling the truth People are not loyal Most people want you to fail Believing happiness is the meaning of life will make you miserable You have to do hard things now for an easy life later What’s worth it isn’t easy, what’s easy isn’t worth it Everything you don’t like or want is your fault and responsibility All your fears are just imagination Everything you judge in others you have done yourself Security has nothing to do with money The best form of revenge is kindness In every stressing, hides a blessing People treat you the way you teach them to It’s your responsibility to express when there are problems Any conflict you avoid now will come back harder There’s ruthlessness and toothlessness there is no in between The easiest person to lie to is yourself If you want the right people in your life you have to let go of those who are wrong for you Being patient is not always a virtue Learning from your mistakes is dumber and more expensive than learning from the mistakes of others Most people aren’t thinking about you Silence is power Your intuition is mostly wrong BEST MOMENTS "Humans lie, to expect them not to lie is a delusion” “No one owes you anything” “If you fail at your dreams it makes them feel more comfortable about their failures” “There is no such thing as I can’t there is only, how can I?” “Revenge never ends” “If you want people to treat you a certain way you have to show them” “Patience isn’t a virtue anymore” VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team Episode Sponsor - AG1 Claim your exclusive offer of AG1 at the link below drinkag1.com/disruptors ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator.
