Caffeine Cast: How to be an Influencer Live From Cayman [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

Do you want to learn what it takes to become an influencer? In today’s episode, Rob explains how to become an influencer and build your personal brand, types of influencers and the things to think about when you become an influencer. KEY TAKEAWAYS How to be an influencer or how to build your personal brand. In the modern business world, it's not just important, it's maybe vital that you want to build a personal brand or become an influencer. Different types of influencers. Being a spokesperson and the go-to person in your niche. The media come to you or you're just well respected and trusted in your industry that could lead to keynote speeches, that could lead to books, that could lead to you being a lead generation source for your own business. If you have a personal brand, where you're known as an individual, you have another asset. So if you only have progressive property, your company, luxuries, you only have that brand, it's your name, but if there's just that brand, and you're not a spokesperson or an influence in the space, you have one asset. Imagine if your company has a bit of reputational issue or the company struggles financially, you're linked to that and you have no other asset for income, you have no other sort of additional stream or ability to pivot. The next thing is, if you want to sell your business, what are you going to do after you've sold it. Now if you don't have any other assets, then you better hope you get 50 million minimum because 10 million is not enough to retire. And you better hope that you are pretty happy doing nothing for the next 30 or 40 years of your life. Otherwise, you're going to be pretty lost and possibly quite bored. If you have a personal brand you can start writing a book and you've got a big following to sell your books to, you can go and do pay keynote speeches around the world and sort of inspire and motivate other people. So you have a separate asset from your companies if you decide to sell your companies Different things to think about becoming an influencer. The first thing is you want to show and know more than anyone else. You want to upscale your knowledge and experience so that you clearly have credibility. The great thing about social media is you can just stick a Live on Facebook, you can have a zoom h1 on to a podcast, and you can share what you know. And if you've been doing it five minutes or 50 years, as long as you share what you know, and you don't pretend to know more than you know, if you've been doing it for five years, there’s someone who's been doing it for five minutes, and there’s someone that you can inspire. If you've just started, a great thing to do to build up your influence of status is to just do a diary of the log. The next thing about being an influencer is being yourself, and putting your own uniqueness. A lot of people compare themselves to influencers who are big in the market, and they want to kind of maybe be a bit more like them, or they feel they have to model or copy them or conversely, they don't think that they could be like them because they feel they’re inexperienced. For people who are not confident on camera, then do a podcast. If you're really, really cripplingly unconfident on a camera, do a podcast and get hundreds of thousands or millions of listeners, built up over time. Talk from your heart, talk about something that you're passionate about. If you're not that confident in front of the camera, start with a one minute piece of content or a three-minute piece of content and then build it up from there. Next thing in becoming an influencer is to be a bit disruptive. Comment on some areas in your sphere in space that a lot of people don't have the courage to. If there are parts of your niche or your industry that are a bit taboo, or that a lot of people don't have the confidence to go and make a stand about, address those issues and concerns, get behind them, put a disruptive or a polarizing argument across because that will generally tend to get quite a lot of leverage and reaching. Next thing is to make sure you leverage all the social media, share the information around all social media platform. Next then is newsjacking. So newsjacking is commenting on Brexit when everyone's moaning about Brexit, or if you're a landlord getting involved in the petitions and the signatures to try and reverse section 24 or stuff like that. It’s far easier to get comments and shares and followers around a subject that people are talking about a lot anyway. The next thing is to convert your knowledge into good content. In your head is a vast amount of knowledge, the challenge then is getting that out of your head to a really compelling video, really good podcast episode, a really good article, a really interesting Facebook post, et cetera. Next thing is you must be consistent and actually, a lot of influencers aren't necessarily better than you, they're more consistent than you, they've been doing it for a long time and they do it daily or weekly. Constant consistent creation of content. The next thing is being prolific. The good influencers are consistent, the big influencers are prolific. Next then is to weave your business and social life together. When you merge your passion and your profession, your vocation and your vacation, and you can put down to your social media, people really love that content. Next is you need to weave in your social proof and your accolades. Do people know what awards you've won? Put all these proof in your social media, pictures with celebrities, pictures of the awards you’ve won et cetera. Hooking up with other influencers increases your own influence of status. Next thing is JV. Could you joint venture with other influencers, could they promote you and you promote them, could you have some kind of contra deal or agreement? Next is have you written a book, do you have a podcast and do you maybe leverage your YouTube channel? Lives on Facebook, LinkedIn, books, audio-books, podcasts, having a YouTube channel, being a public speaker, these are probably the main assets that you would want to pick off if you want to be an influencer. The next thing is leveraging virtual assistants, PA’s, VA’s to do all of the admin, research & the technical. This is really beneficial, they do everything, take this video, put it on LinkedIn, take this video, put it on YouTube, take this, put it on Instagram, take the audio, put it live on to my podcast, and that's massive leverage. The next great thing about being an influencer and having followers is you become the main lead source for your business which obviously gives you great leverage to grow. BEST MOMENTS “Social media is about following people, individuals.” “You get to win both ways by building a company that doesn't rely on you and then having another asset around your name.” “There’s always going to be someone that knows more than you.” “What there isn't is someone who knows a lot, and someone who's like you.” “It’s always enough to be you.” “The best content often for social media for being an influencer, is documenting.” “In your head is a vast amount of knowledge.” “If people don't know, people don't know.” “If you don't risk anything, you're risking everything.” [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors] VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter https://robmoore.com/podbooks rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. What’s next for Katie Price BEST MOMENTS "I've been through it all, and I've come out the other end, and I will never let any man, person, anything ever get me in that state." "I've earned so much, shitloads of money. 100 million? I don't know. I know you want a figure. You're not going to get one." "Put me in a shed in a field, and I'll grow it, the garden, make it an empire again. And that's the kind of person I am, and I am now. I've proved everyone wrong, come out the other end." "I don't trust anyone anymore, which is a shame. It takes a lot for me to get trust from anyone. But how I am sitting here today, I know my worth. I know what I've got to give. And I'm not being a fool anymore." "I definitely am a survivor. I've never asked for sympathy, don't want sympathy and I think what makes you a good person, you go through these situations and you learn from them." "When you earn money, everyone has their little hand in it and it starts off small, then they get greedier and greedier, and that's how they get caught." "I'm misunderstood because the media have created a caricature of me when really, I'm the most down to earth, empathetic, caring person, very giving, very loving."   VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team Episode Sponsor - AG1 Claim your exclusive offer of AG1 at the link below drinkag1.com/disruptors ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Carl Hartley | The Truth About Electric Cars & Inside the Luxury Car Industry

Carl Hartley | The Truth About Electric Cars & Inside the Luxury Car Industry

Rob is joined again by supercar dealer Carl Hartley. Carl reveals the luxury car industry's biggest scams, manufacturer manipulation, and insider secrets. From exposing dealership malpractices to sharing his controversial views on electric cars and the Jaguar rebrand disaster, Carl holds nothing back. He also talks about how he sold 14 cars in one day, shares the story behind his viral police meme, and explains why he'll never sell a Lotus! Carl Hartley REVEALS: Why the electric car revolution is "the biggest scam in the car industry," with Carl explaining why the 2030 target is unrealistic and why infrastructure will never support it. Why manufacturers are increasingly trying to cut out grey market dealers by pricing cars higher initially, changing the industry dynamics. How some dealerships abuse sale-or-return arrangements, secretly using client cars and covering up accidents. That car insurance is essentially a cartel, forcing owners into unfair arrangements and penalising them for others' mistakes. How prestigious brands like Ferrari maintain their exclusivity through deliberate customer selection and strict control measures. Why limited editions aren't always what they seem, manufacturers often create artificial scarcity through marketing rather than genuine rarity. BEST MOMENTS "I had three of the most deadly cars in the world - the Carrera GT, the F40, and the P1. This car drives like you've smacked its kids and shagged its wife." "When you look pro rata, cars have gone up a disgusting amount in what, one new model. Range Rover is the best example in the world. They've literally gone up 70 percent from one model to another." "Look at all the racing drivers that have had motorsport success in Jaguars and the great cars. Steve McQueen used to own Jaguars. The coolest person to ever walk the earth. And now look what they've done." "Money's hard enough to earn and sometimes it's not fun. So when you want to spend it, you want to have fun spending it." "I get more sceptical of someone who walks in with their Dolce Gabbana suit on and their shiny shoes than someone who just walks in dressed casual."   VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team Episode Sponsor - AG1 Claim your exclusive offer of AG1 at the link below drinkag1.com/disruptors ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Matt Le Tissier, former Sky Sports pundit and Southampton FC icon, opens up about his departure from mainstream media, his journey to Christianity, and shares his unfiltered views on everything from government control to the crisis in society the UK and the world is facing.   Matt Tissier REVEALS: Why he was fired from Sky Sports His thoughts on Keir Starmer The true extent of media control How he has managed to generate and create an income after his ‘cancellation’ Why he found Christianity The problems with football right now Why Financial Fair Play rules actually prevent teams from challenging the status quo and protect established wealthy clubs. Why psychopaths tend to rise to positions of power BEST MOMENTS "I think football should be free from any of those kind of campaigns. Keep it out of sport. If you want to campaign for that stuff, do it on your own time, but don't infiltrate sports to be able to do it." "I've always felt like there is a backlash coming and there I always feel like there are so many more good people on this planet than there are bad and eventually that will win over." "When you're taxed when you buy, taxed when you sell, taxed when you're alive and taxed when you're dead - our government is basically discouraging people from actually growing our country." "I would say there are probably people who like to have control over human beings, psychopaths, I think if they destroy the country enough, there'll be people begging for help from their government." "The stuff about free speech is that you are free to offend people. Now, you can't give offence to people. You can't offend somebody. Somebody can only take offence."  "One of the greatest things we can have while we're on this planet is the human connection and making connections with different people from different walks of life and enjoying other people's company." Dominic Frisby | Who Really Controls Money & The World

Rob interviews financial commentator, author and comedian Dominic Frisby about the state of global economics, cryptocurrency, and politics. Dominic Frisby REVEALS: Why Bitcoin could become the currency of choice How global finance could be revolutionised The second largest exodus of millionaires globally is happening in the UK The cause of the property market's high prices Why traditional employment structures are changing dramatically His thoughts about Gold What he thinks about tax systems in the UK and globally BEST MOMENTS "If you want to see who controls the world, follow the money... this is a huge battleground that is coming, and it's possibly the biggest battleground of the lot." "Between taxes and currency debasement, more than 50 per cent of everything you ever own will be taken from you from the government... It's 50 per cent relentlessly throughout your whole life.” "Libertarianism has become the belief system of the internet. But it hasn't actually taken hold in the real world yet because the way political systems are, it can't take hold." "The problem with government and so much of the way modern businesses run is all spreadsheet based... but actually you need this sort of accidental stuff and you have that in free markets and capitalism because it's just built in." "You look at why people don't have families, why they have kids later in life, the most commonly given reason is expense... Okay, and you got to keep on going back. You have to figure out take your ego out of it." "If you want to be successful in business, there's no balance. I mean, you really have to give up some of your home, you know, benefits in order to get ahead." "Listen, if you want to be a disruptor. You’re not cruising, you're not working 9 to 5, you know, you have to come up with an idea that is a disruption, that, you know, you want to break the mode." "Don't give up. With brutal honesty, Pena reveals why he believes humanity is heading for disaster, shares insights about dealing with the ultra wealthy, and explains why 99% of people will never make it.  Dan Pena REVEALS: How he has helped create $2.3 trillion in equity through his mentees Trump's election will be good for the worldwide economy Why most people are destined to fail Why he sleeps 10 hours a day   Proof of societal decline in the UK The primary cause of Western society's deterioration and downfall Why free advice is ineffective   Why he keeps 75% of his assets outside the UK   BEST MOMENTS "If you're worried about paying taxes, you're not making enough fucking money." "Money is freedom.” "I train people to be in the point zero, zero, zero, one percent." "Most people don't work as hard. They're lazy. They're entitled.” "I'm not here to be liked, I'm here to be effective." "You're the average of the five people you hung around with." "I haven't had to work in 40 years. I do it because I like what I'm doing." "Nobody wants taxes, but nobody wants to give up any services." "A hundred million dollar deal took you about six weeks to get done in the 70s... Now, the same deal takes 12 to 20 weeks." "We're fucked! The people today are so narrow minded, they think they're not narrow minded, which amuses me." Rory Sutherland: Breaking the Property Market Delusion

Take the survey now: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1iHRZvOly_Q7aprlQBF7n38y0EjgvnHw2OdYII8yQElc/edit?ts=670d0111 Rob is joined by advertising maverick Rory Sutherland for a conversation that will make you question everything you thought you knew about property, work, and modern living. Through brilliant analogies, Rory unveils why we're all pouring our wealth into "utterly tedious" houses instead of enjoying life's innovations. From his radical takes on office culture to his fascinating insights on how video calls have changed business forever, this episode is packed with "aha" moments that will stick with you long after listening. Whether you're a property owner, thinking about remote work, or just love fresh perspectives on modern life, this conversation will have you looking at the world differently. Rory Sutherland REVEALS: Who is really to blame for the property crisis How the internet has democratised consumption Why office culture needs reimagining in all ways The reality that all companies need to adapt to or risk losing top talent How the UK housing market could be transformed and innovated Why big cities are less relevant than ever BEST MOMENTS "The point of capitalism, right? Capitalism is nothing to do with efficiency. Forget that. That's a distraction. Praising capitalism because it's efficient is like praising Bob Dylan because he's got a beautiful singing voice." "Any meeting without tea and biscuits is just faintly unnatural... we've got to leave some space for anthropology here, not just economics." "The actual buildings are utterly tedious and awful for the most part. And all the money is actually in the land... It's kind of bothersome to me because so much of what should be a productive discretionary market economy is actually being sequestered in this utterly uninteresting form of wealth preservation." "Nobody minded buying CDs when the only way you could listen to music was on a CD... When the record companies started to say, 'No, I know you can download music from the internet in five minutes, but you still have to buy it on CD to protect our legal rights.' Okay, that's when people revolt." "We've spent trillions on this stuff, we've created billionaires, we've created bankruptcies... If all this turmoil created by technology doesn't manifest itself in basically a general improvement to people's lived existence... what the hell is the point?" "I don't believe in all these entrepreneurs that sell up and move, I was happy to pay my tax and say, this is a great country." "Fail fast. Fail small, learn from it, and then you can go on and make it really big."
