Thanks for hanging in there during an extended hiatus. We meant to be back at the end of October, but due to ongoing equipment issues, real work travel, and illness we had to extend our time off through Thanksgiving. During the inter-season break from IWTV, the vampire insiders are having conversations about the immortal universe shows and creature-related subjects.  In this episode the insiders (minus Joann who had a week off due to sound issues) discuss the changes the main characters have undergone in the TV Show. Our main focus is on Lestat and the fandom reaction to the significant changes to his character, but we also get into Claudia, Louis, and Daniel and how the show writers have given them a bit of a refresh. We also dip into some opinion on how much (or how little) show writers should actually pay attention to fan opinion -- do they have an obligation to live into fan expectations or is it more artistically honest for them to ignore fan theories and hopes. In this episode we discuss the 2012 Neil Jordan directed film Byzantium about a mother/daughter vampiric duo on the lam. We weave quite a bit of Interview With the Vampire chat into this conversation -- we found some interesting connections -- and we talk Anne Rice's significant impact on the vampire genre. This week's submission to the Vampire Insider Writer's Room is a sharp-toothed and sexy masterpiece by ModernDayLestat called Bite Me. It is an extremely spicy short story and Kristina, who loved it, had some struggles overcoming her shyness while reading it, but after a few funny false starts, we get into a great discussion about what blood sharing means to vampires.
