The case against Donald Trump / COP28's fossil fuel fight

The United Nations COP28 climate change conference ended with a landmark agreement to transition away from fossil fuels. What would it take to succeed? How did OPEC make the deal happen (partly by opposing it)? And what does it mean for America’s fuel supplies? Also: Special Prosecutor Jack Smith is asking the Supreme Court to quickly rule on whether former President Trump can be criminally prosecuted for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. That includes a key legal matter surrounding the January 6th attack on the Capitol. His trial in Washington is on hold until this constitutional question is resolved. I break down his argument and explain the other Supreme Court case that could cripple the prosecution.Plus: you may have heard employers say they want their workers to “bring their whole selves to work”. It’s meant as a way to foster diversity and inclusion. In practice, however, this often goes sideways — it has for me multiple times. A recent New York Times profile of master animator Hayao Miyazaki gave me even more reason to push back on showing a bunch of strangers at the office my “whole self”. Boundaries seem to have worked well for Miyazaki-san… why not for us? His latest film The Boy and the Heron opened at #1 in theaters this weekend.Liked this episode?
