On February 28th, 1997, 2 men went into a branch of Bank of America in North Hollywood.  They were heavily armed and heavily armored.  They quickly got the attention of the employees and bystanders by firing into the air.  A patrol car outside the bank heard the shots and reported a robbery with shots fired.  What ensued was one of the biggest gun battles in U.S. police history..Oh, and it was broadcast live, nationally on TV.  Want access to our first 45 episodes? Leading up to Thanksgiving 2012, Byron David Smith claimed that his home had been broken into at least half a dozen times over the course of a few months, only one of which he reported to the police.  On Thanksgiving Day, 2012, Byron was home, reading a book in his favorite reading chair when he heard glass break and decided to take matters into his own hands.  The next moments were captured on an audio recorder, as Byron shot Haile Kifer and Nicholas Brady, two teens from his neighborhood.  It would be up to a jury to decide, was it self defense or murder? The two called themselves prophets and said that God spoke directly to them. What started as a chance meeting in a bar led to the formation of one of the most notorious cults in America. To many onlookers, the “foundation” just appeared to be a strange type of ministry. Little did they know that behind closed doors and away from the cameras, there was rampant physical assaults, child abuse, sexual abuse, and child pornography.
