On February 28th, 1997, 2 men went into a branch of Bank of America in North Hollywood. They were heavily armed and heavily armored. They quickly got the attention of the employees and bystanders by firing into the air. A patrol car outside the bank heard the shots and reported a robbery with shots fired.
