Taika Waititi Not Directing Thor 5

In a surprising turn of events for Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans, director Taika Waititi has confirmed he will not be involved in the upcoming Thor 5. Taika Waititi, the acclaimed director behind “Thor: Ragnarok” and “Thor: Love and Thunder,” recently announced he would not be directing the next Thor movie. Speaking with Business Insider, Waititi cited his busy schedule, which includes a Star Wars project and the Akira adaptation, as the primary reason for stepping away from the MCU for now. Despite his departure, Waititi maintains a positive relationship with Marvel, humorously describing it as an “open relationship” and expressing his willingness to collaborate again in the future.

Waititi’s influence on the Thor series has been notable, especially in introducing a more humorous and quirky take on the character. His thoughts on the direction of Thor 5, particularly regarding the villain, suggest a desire for a more formidable adversary than Hela, the antagonist from “Thor: Ragnarok.” However, with his departure, the actual direction the film will take remains uncertain.
