TROPHY KILL-Dan Zupansky
July 1st, 2003 and the Miramax movie Shall We Dance starring Jennifer Lopez, Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon was being filmed in Winnipeg. Police were called when Susan Sarandon reported her gold necklace and other jewelry stolen from the movie set.
On July 2nd, Sydney Teerhuis calmly walked into a police station to report waking from a drunken blackout to find a man he had met the day before-dead in the bathtub.
Police escorted Teerhuis to his rented hotel room and in the bathtub they found the victim decapitated, the body sawn in half. He had been chopped into 8 separate pieces.
He was posed crudely reassembled-A few feet away from the horror spectacle police found Susan Sarandon’s stolen gold necklace.
Through a fateful turn of events, Dan Zupansky, an ambitious journalist manages to develop a unique working relationship with Sidney, and through correspondence, letters and phone calls, eventually is given crucial documentary and physical evidence pertaining to the murder trial. He becomes the star witness for the prosecution, testifying against the killer, trying desperately to ensure he spends the rest of his life in prison.
Through his investigation Dan discovers the incredible role Susan Sarndon's stolen jewelry really had in the shocking motive behind the murder-horror spectacle and he will talk publicly about that for the very first time. You will hear some of the killer's actual revelations-as heard at trial. A very strong warning-Not for the faint of heart.
