Sometimes it's funny to me how drinking alcohol is a "norm" and if you're the one who is not doing that, you're the odd one out.

I experienced a few moments in my life where I would consider myself an alcoholic...I would not be able to finish a day without a few glasses of wine, or my favorite cocktail. Thankfully these moments only lasted a few months but if I was to go back, I would never do it again.

At the time, it made sense, but I also know I was covering up a deeper issue that needed proper attention.

Eric Oberembt is the CEO of D&M Roofing and Siding in Omaha, NE. He is the co-founder of the non profit "Roofers in Recovery" sending people in addiction to treatment centers to get the help they need. He is the author of two books about residential and commercial roofing. He is a coach at the "Commercial Roofing Academy'' and Co-founder of the National Vendor Network "Advanced Roofing Technologies".
