76: Coercive Control & Teen Domestic Violence: The Murder of Emma Jane Walker

76: Coercive Control & Teen Domestic Violence: The Murder of Emma Jane Walker

In November of 2016, a 16 year old girl from Knoxville, Tennessee was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. Emma Jane Walker had been a victim of coercive control for two years before he killed her. Emma’s parents saw the signs and did everything right. The United States needs to follow the lead of many UK countries who have passed coercive control laws. Coercive control is the cornerstone of intimate partner violence and usually the starting point, especially in abusive teenage relationships.

Leslie’s entire personality changed and against her parents wishes, she married Mike. Once her father passed away and the MacKools found out Leslie’s inheritance had been changed, they had over two million reasons to want Janie dead. After her sons were brutally murdered, Darlie Routier was brought to the hospital with what looked like a very serious slash to her throat and was taken immediately into surgery. But her wounds were superficial. She was in the hospital less than 2 days. She and Darin buried their sons and to many people, acted very strangely. And they did it in front of the press they had invited to their sons graves. Darlie would be arrested four days later.
