The Department of Justice has submitted a proposal to Congress, recommending a rollback of the immunity shield that protects internet companies from liability for what’s posted on their platforms. Former White House Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra discusses the “good, bad, and the ugly” of the Section 230 legal framework introduced in the 1990s. The Anti-Defamation League and five other organizations took out an ad in the LA Times: #StopHateforProfit.
