Episode 412: Bruce Perry, MD, PhD. Respect Your Client & Their Story.

This month I've been posting some of my favorite episodes of the year. Of course Dr. Bruce Perry is going to be on that list! --- Before I dive in about Dr. Perry, let me first thank a new sponsor, Skillshare. Skillshare is an online learning community with thousands of amazing classes covering dozens of creative and entrepreneurial skills, and they are offering The Trauma Therapist | Podcast listeners 2 months for free by going to Skillshare.com/TRAUMAGUY I talk a lot on this podcast about knowledge, but also the importance of personal growth. With Skillshare you can take classes in: creativity entrepreneurship psychology film personal growth productivity personal branding A few of the classes I’m going through right now are Create Your Ideal Week Create a Perfect Morning Routine How to find your true Self Marketing and personal branding classes If you’d like to join me and the millions of other students already learning on Skillshare and also get 2 months for free, go to: Skillshare.com/TRAUMAGUY --- Ever since I read Dr. Perry's book, The Boy Who Was Raised As a Dog, I was hooked. A lot of things started to make sense to me, in terms of what it means to work with those who've been impacted by trauma, and what it means to help, to heal, and to guide. Dr. Perry is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and neuroscientist. He is a senior fellow at the ChildTrauma Academy and an adjunct professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. In addition to having written more than two hundred scientific articles, Dr. Perry has coauthored with Maia Szalavitz two books for general audiences: The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog: And Other Stories from a Child Psychiatrist’s Notebook and Born for Love: Why Empathy Is Essential — and Endangered.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-trauma-therapist-podcast-with-guy-macpherson-phd-inspiring-interviews-with-thought-leaders-in-the-field-of-trauma/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands
