The Lord puts a standard in front of us today. In the first reading (audio not included within this media), the Lord speaks to the people through Moses. It’s been forty years in the desert. They are at the doorstep of the promise land. The Lord has given the people the law for a reason! I set you free from Egypt for a reason! We don’t always pause and think about the reasons God does things for us! . . . Understand the Implications for Our Spiritual Life! The Lord does not give the Israelites the law so that the people can pick and choose how to live! He did not just rescue the people from slavery for the fun of it. There is a reason!
