Connect: Facebook @waynegrape Instagram @waynegrape Website latavernafriuli.com Guest Bio - Federico Stroppolatini Federico Stroppolatini, together with his sister Marianna, runs their small family-owned vineyard and Bad and Breakfast in the heart of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOP area, near the UNESCO heritage town Cividale, in the north-east of Italy. The farm was born in the second half of the 1800s and still today it preserve the original vineyard of Friulano planted by their ancestors around 120 years ago. Federico takes care of the production, running the 6 hectares of vineyard (all situated on the traditional tarraces on the slope of the two hills of the estate) with particular care for autochthonous varieties, low environmental impact with organic farming, biodiversity and vine longevity. He follows similar philosophy in the cellar, limiting interventions on musts and wines, avoiding industrial yeasts, clarifications and stabilizations, preferring longer agings both for whites and red wines, aiming to bring territoriality, complexity and elegance in the glass.
