More about today’s guest : James Tidwell is a writer, speaker, and educator, known for founding and producing the TEXSOM Conference and TEXSOM Awards. He consulted on The World Atlas of Wine 8th Edition and the upcoming Oxford Companion to Wine update, contributes to the annual Hugh Johnson Pocket Wine Book, and serves on the editorial committee for the Classic Wine Library. He’s judged prestigious competitions, including the Wines of Portugal Challenge and Decanter World Wine Awards. His writing appears in World of Fine Wine and Lonely Planet. Recognized as a Rising Star Sommelier by StarChefs in 2007, WSET’s Outstanding Alumni in 2017, and a Wine Business Leader by Wine Business Monthly in 2021, Tidwell earned the Master Sommelier Diploma in 2009. He holds degrees from Louisiana State University and the Culinary Institute of America.
