CSP 067: Transgender Discrimination in CSD Programs

You may remember Dr. Charles Lenell (pronouns: they/them) from episode 49 (The Doctoral Shortage). Dr. Lenell is back to discuss an online petition they filed with change.org. The gist of the petition: LGBTQ students at some colleges and universities face discrimination due to a loophole afforded by 'religious exemption.' The petition asks for transparency so potential students can better decide which programs will meet their needs.

Essential to this conversation is an understanding of the role of the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) as well as what protections Title IX provides in theory and practice.
