After School Democracy ep 44 / The US government is a puzzle. All the pieces of the party must be there to change anything.

People on the left hate Biden and Harris because they aren't perfect and they have a past that reflects their constitutent's wishes at the time and notwthe constituent's wishes have changed. However the way the government is set up now, a Trump second term allows him to do anything he wants because congressional default position is inaction to stop him, while to actually change literally anything requires pretty much a landslide, and ALL the peice, house, senate, president AND a small majority in the supreme court to make ANY change. This election has the potential to change all the rules of the game to be fairer, get big money out of politics and move our elections to finally not require dems to win by a land slide just to break even, but this is such a complicated mess that people can only see the individuals over seeing them as essential peices to a puzzle to make ANY change, then get mad when dems do nothing, because they legally CAN'T! Vote blue no matter who is not entitlement is a reality needed for the dems to make literally any changes possible. Dems had power to change things from 2008-2010, after that it was by design impossible for them to do literally anything else and even during the period they had power the no-effort secret filabuster rule required them to negotiate with the few republicans that weren' completely unreasonable and trying to break the government.
