Persevere

Persevere

At 8 years old, Maria Christina dropped out of school to maintain the family home.

At 13, she married and was pregnant with her first child.

After struggling for many years and with the encouragement of her friends, Maria opened a restaurant. It was not an instant success, but Maria had spent her whole life persevering, and she wasn’t about to give up now.

If there ever was a year to spread hope, joy, peace and strength, this is that year. We have collected a little bit of hope from all over the world, and want to share stories and a message of meaning. We trust it will inspire you.

At Opportunity International, our clients are our heroes – they do the heavy lifting day in and day out. In this unprecedented global crisis that is setting poverty gains back significantly, they continue to find new ways to work and provide for their families.

We hope you were encouraged by Maria’s story.

But more help is still needed.

You can invest in a strategic, sustainable response to the pandemic and support the work that these clients are continuing to do.
