The Future of Modular Execution Layers

If you've been following along for sometime, you've likely heard of Fluent as part of our Modular March campaign or in a previous episode.

We first met Dino last year, early on in the development of their zkWasm L2, powered by a web assembly virtual machine (for execution). This has long been a part of our modular thesis, so naturally we were extremely interested in their newly launched "Blended execution" idea.

In today's video, we set out to understand why blended execution networks are superior to single execution. We learned about the idea behind "taking the best parts" of modular VMs like EVM, WASM, and SVM and coexist with each other. This approach brings a new level of interoperability to the modular eco for devs, making it easier for them to leverage their own background and skills to participate in crypto.

Dino also shared insights into his journey in coming to the idea of blended execution, the challenges they've overcome, and what lies ahead.
