Coffee & Geography 2x16 Millie Harding (UK)

Kit and Millie brew some Brew Tea Co. English Breakfast Tea, chatting about the 11-plus, imposter syndrome, machine learning, mapping invasive shrubs in Alaska, trophic cascades, amongst other things! Millie has just finished her degree at Durham university in Geography. Her dissertation looked at how the current subsidy system affects farmers and how changes would impact them. Millie is currently working on a project based on the work that I did as part of the DaRin Butz Internship at Harvard University. This project uses a machine learning algorithm to predict the location of an invasive shrub in the Alaskan Arctic. The team were able to achieve proof of concept and so we are currently planning fieldwork for summer 2022.
