H'OOPONOPONO W/LISA

This year has been a doozy!! Can you remember a time of so much unrest and unexpected change? Are you tired, stressed, mad? If you're feeling like me - it’s Yes, Yes and Yes. And while that is relative and true it doesn't feel good. So what do we do? How do we clear the mind?

For the September Yoga Nidra, I offer you Ho'oponopono. It's an ancient Hawaiian prayer practice that helps you process forgiveness and reconciliation. Ho'o means "to make" and pono "right" so the repetition of the word pono translates to mean "doubly right" and the prayer helps you settle energies with both within yourself and around you.

The prayer is simple: I'm sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you.

You can change the order and phrasing of the words and simply repeat them over and over. When we allow ourselves to heal and release, we make room for what we really want - love, joy, and freedom.

"Not harming ourselves or others in the beginning, not harming ourselves or others in the middle, and not harming ourselves or other in the end is the basis of enlightened society. This is how there could be a sane world. It starts with sane citizens, and that is us. The most fundamental aggression to ourselves, the most fundamental harm we can do to ourselves, is to remain ignorant by not having the courage and the respect to look at ourselves honestly and gently." - Pema Chodron
