It’s something I created in a time which is challenging an and it curates moods, rhythms or speeds that I encounter in daily life in lockdown mode. I also see my mixing as an act of political statement making, resistance and performance of discourses which I find important, problematic or influential in meaningful ways to me and to society in general. At the same time, I see mixing as an encouragement to be more in touch with myself, with my instinct and in the same way, I hope to inspire those who listen to this to do the same. About Lexia Majora Artist biography: I am techno DJ based in Exeter. I am resident and manager of Sister Sounds (https://www.facebook.com/sistersoundscollective/), an all-womxn collective for DJs in Exeter. I have played sets for Sister Sounds events featuring Sherelle, Breakwave and Mor Elian, and Room 303 nights showcasing UMFANG and Afrodeutsche, supporting the local musical community consistently. I have played guest mixes on Noods Radio and Love Summer Radio and plan to contribute more. Click here for the feeder sound II OPEN CALL voting poll, available between 12th of May – 12th of June: https://www.feeder.ro/2020/05/09/vote-feeder-sound-open-call/ ‎ WINNERS announcement - 15th of June --- Jon Borno - Antiviral [vinyl] Set description: Starting off with a very subtle breakbeat style track, the set evolves into a spaced-out, spherical journey through the landscape of minimalistic Romanian house music. In the time before the set was recorded, I visited some local record stores in Germany, digging through a lot of very interesting music. After visiting Prague for a week, I came back with lots of new records in my bag and new ideas and experiences in my head. The last place I've visited was GRAM Records in Prague - the drawing by my lovely girlfriend shows the inside of this beautiful place. Listening to my podcast "Romania" on the way home, I decided to record a ro-minimal podcast again. I hope you enjoy the story and the music showcased in this podcast! About Jon Borno About yourself: "Hey, my name is Tobias and I am living in Hannover, which is in the northern part of Germany. When I am not hosting parties, working at festivals or DJ in the local club scene, I try to finish my PhD in mechanical engineering... As the artist Jon Borno, I mainly play a variety of minimalistic, deep and spherical house music, but also use to play some beats and old-school hip hop, as well as minimal techno – from time to time I also dig into old-school house music and funky stuff. The music scene evolving around minimalistic music isn't too big in Hannover, but I always try to find those parties and locations where people really enjoy those minimal journeys. Since I am working on my computer most of the time, I love to play on a physical format. Since I started spinning electronic music, I have collected more than 1200 records and always keep digging for new, interesting and unexpected music and also artists. Building up my sets I always look for a story to tell to the audience, while using subtle transitions and smooth changes of vibe." Portfolio link: @jonborno Current city: Hannover, Germany 🇩🇪 3 releases you enjoy the most: -> Dwig – Feige Dattel [Giegling 09] – totally deep and sophisticated minimalism from Germany; the EP is musically interesting as well -> Stekke – Sain [SKT003] – very jazzy, moody and minimalistic; very nice produced EP -> Vid Vai ‎– Barracuda Vortex EP [SR007] – I started collecting hip hop and instrumental records long before, I was into electronic music... Since then there was always a strong interest for breakbeat records. I especially enjoy the B1 track – very deep and funky at the same time! NiK – Bedroom Session 004

NiK – Bedroom Session 004

Click here for the feeder sound II OPEN CALL voting poll, available between 12th of May – 12th of June: https://www.feeder.ro/2020/05/09/vote-feeder-sound-open-call/ ‎ WINNERS announcement - 15th of June --- NiK - Bedroom session 004 Set description: As we are in lockdown currently, I wanted to make use of all this free time and dig for even more music. This set I made consists of some highlights of old tech house music, with some dark minimal and happy breakbeat rhythms I found during this digging session. The subtle background sounds are mixing perfectly with these groovy basslines, making you want to dance with all your body with your eyes closed, sending you to your own world perceived through these sounds. The first minutes of the set reminds you that you start this journey from earth, as you can hear the seagulls in the distance, but the virtualization of this world is starting slowly and gets wrapped with digital sounds. You can feel the journey by travelling the tunnel of bass, which gives you a hard shaking especially at the half of the set, followed by the mindblowing sounds of some old synths, dissolving the concept of time until the last quarter of the set, where a short disruption of the digital world is triggered by the vocals, which reminds us that happiness is a human feeling, and also these happiness-inducing tracks are made by humans. The last part of the set is a more calm and obscure one, with some nice melodic grooves, followed by a last, unexpected drop to wake you up from the trance and smile, reflecting at what you have witnessed and felt. About NiK About yourself: Hello! I am a student (18 years old) in the first year of university who fell in love with the music he listens to. As it sounds cliche, it actually saves me out of any sadness and enhances any happy moments I m living. I started listening to this kind of music 3 years ago and I have started making playlists since then, but got a little more involved in it a year after, when I bought my first dj console. After figuring out the basics and having some parties at friends' houses, along with the encouragements from them, I hosted my first (yet only) party last summer in my home town, Targu Mures, where I was feeling every second of happiness because people enjoyed my music. After that party, I knew playing music made me feel good, but seeing actual people dancing on my taste of music made me feel amazing. It made me even more curious and recently I started to learn to produce music. It is a little confusing sometimes, but I am trying my best and have no expectations, as the music I make and mix is mostly for me and the people, and not fame or money (it's not the case for any of them haha) Artist biography: DJ, aspiring music producer and enthusiast who will rather say he's having fun than working when he's playing music. Although his music taste is still developing, he focuses on strong, dark beats where a few drops of funky grooves are sometimes added to spice up the dancefloor along with the powerful basslines. His ultimate wish is that people enjoy the music he listens to as much as he does. Portfolio link: @alex-579684647 Current city: Cluj Napoca, Romania 🇷🇴 3 releases you enjoy the most: Lovable Rogues – Jaywalking; Asad rizvi – Smiling at the sun; Silverlining – Turn Turn Turn 3 Romanian artists you follow: Rhadoo, Raresh, Sit 3 international artists you follow: Silverlining, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano Most played album: Silverlining dubs VIII --- The feeder sound II project is organized by Save or Cancel team, composed of Cristina Popa (random) and Andrei Racovițan (ubic), through feeder.ro and is co-funded by AFCN, Thematic area: Digital art and new media.
