James Baker, our containers editor, returned from Hamburg’s Global Liner Shipping event with a laptop filled with insightful reflections on the box sector, but it is still digitalisation and decarbonisation that are dominating the thoughts of the industry’s elite. Anastassios Adamopoulos, our regulatory reporter, left the International maritime Organization last week with the overwhelming feeling that the 2050 decarbonisation targets might need a little more space in a very crowded agenda if real progress is going to be made within the very tight timeliness set out for the UN body.
