#50: Dr. Hadar Sophia - Ironman Finisher & Holistic Doctor

Dr. Hadar Sophia (socaldetoxdoc.com @dr.hadarsophia) is an absolute BADASS! She finished the Ironman in October 2019 (Ironman is 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, AND a full 26.2 mile marathon all within 17 hours to complete), which is arguably one of the most grueling sporting events in the world.

As you might guess, a lot of energy and mental and physical strength are needed. She was able to utilize the magic healing effects of acupuncture and chiropractic treatments, plenty of sleep (8-10 hours a night!) as well as by sticking to mostly a plant-based diet that is rich in super-foods, green leafy veggies, plant proteins and some wild caught fish, as well as high quality supplements that help sustain healthy mitochondria production, muscle repair, and other powerful antioxidants to help counteract any oxidative stress and cell damage.

She also participated in the Jewish Olympic Games in Mexico City in July 2019 , competing in MaccabiMan (which were four events: Cycling, Triathlon, Swimming, and a Half Marathon) and has been able to persevere heat, high altitude and some tough conditions and bring home DOUBLE BRONZE MEDALS!! This just 3 months prior to competing at Ironman.

In this episode, we discuss some of the supplements she uses such as:

  • CoQ10 for mitochondrion energy, heart health and ATP production:
  • Nitric Oxide for better blood flow, energy and heart health:
  • Liposomal glutathione as a powerful antioxidant and increased energy and detoxification:
  • Liposomal vitamin C for adrenal support, energy, immune system and skin tone

Dr. Hadar also recommends practical nutrient dense foods which you can incorporate into your diet immediately such as:

  • Walnuts, Cashews, Pecans
  • Celery, Seaweed, Collared Greens, and Beans
