#72: Supplements to Help You Thrive

REMINDER, I AM NOT A DOCTOR! Please consult your physician. I highly recommend getting your blood work done to better understand your baseline for all important markers before implementing an optimal supplement strategy that best supports your diet and lifestyle.

Here are my supplements that I take every day:

Elite Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, & Soy-Free Whey Protein Concentrate With 2 Grams of Added Fiber - One of the highest-quality whey proteins on the market and included for all my coaching clients when they sign up for my 90-day coaching program. I've been taking this for 4 years and convenient way to make sure I'm getting sufficient amounts of protein every day. I take 1 serving/day. Please contact me to order directly.

Elite Gut Health Probiotics With Digestive Enzymes - Another supplement I included for all my coaching clients and non-negotiable part of my daily supplement routine. If I had to only pick one supplement, this would be it. 80% of our immune system is tied-up to our gut and this product promotes optimal cleansing and flushing of our digestive system. I take 3 chewable tablets/day. Please contact me to order directly.

Fish Oil - Contains Omega-3 fatty acids that are essential nutrients that are important in preventing and managing heart disease. Findings show omega-3 fatty acids helps to lowers inflammation and improves inflammatory conditions in the body. Lowers BP, Reduces triglycerides, Slows the development of plaque in the arteries, and Reduces the chance of abnormal heart rhythm. I take 2 x 1200 mg = 2,400 mg/day. Nature Made @CVS.

Turmeric - The swiss army knife of supplements. Reduces inflammation, protects against heart disease, and helps treating depression. I take 500mg capsule/day. Nature Made @CVS. I also put turmeric powder in my protein shake every day.

Vitamin D - Promotes healthy bones, prevents osteoporosis and type 1 diabetes, lowers BP, and regulates your immune system. I take 2 x 2,000IU capsules = 4,000 IU/day. Nature's Bounty @CVS.

Magnesium - An important mineral playing a role in over 300 enzyme reactions in the human body. Its many functions include helping with muscle and nerve function, regulating blood pressure, and supporting the immune system. Magnesium supplements may improve a number of health markers, such as blood pressure and blood sugar control. It may also reduce your risk of health conditions such as heart disease, migraine, and depression. Also promotes better sleep. Insomnia is a common symptom of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium plays a role in supporting deep, restorative sleep by maintaining healthy levels of GABA, a neurotransmitter that promotes sleep. Research indicates supplemental magnesium can improve sleep quality, especially in people with poor sleep. I take 500mg every night before bed. Nature's Bounty @CVS.

Epsom Salt - Pharmacy grade magnesium sulfate for whole body relief and wellness. Used to revitalize tired, achy muscles, reduce stress, minimize swelling, and refresh appearance of skin. I add 4 cups into my hot bath every night. Dr. Teal's Pure Epsom Salt Therapeutic Soak @CVS.

Water - Divide your weight by 2 and drink that many ounces of water/day. I weight 180lbs. and try to drink 90 ounces of water/day. Staying hydrated flushes out toxins and waste, decreases food cravings, increases energy levels, supports healthy kidneys, lubricates and cushions joints, prevents muscle cramps, regulates body temp, reduces inflammation, and slows aging. You should be peeing every few hours with clear urine color.
