TIGER KING: Terry Thompson

Terry Thompson was a Vietnam Veteran. He was drafted in 1967. While never formally diagnosed, his friends believe he suffered from PTSD. Terry was a fan of all things fast and furious and in the late 90s when he purchased his first exotic animal – he was hooked. Eventually accumulating 56+ animals – ranging from tigers, lions, bears, etc. You could say he was an exotic animal hoarder. In 2010-2011, Terry spent some time in jail and when he returned home to find that his wife of 30+ years had left him, he felt that his life was over. Terry then made world news when he released dozens of exotic animals into a small town in the middle of Ohio, before taking his own life.
