📍 Major Topics Include:

☀️ Encouraging the use of technology students are familiar with such as phones to take notes

☀️ Philosophy: It's better to read something than nothing at all

☀️ Parental involvement

☀️ Calendar for reading/ setting up a schedule for reading

☀️ Giving students strategies for breaking down the reading and setting goals

☀️ Modeling good reading strategies during the school year to get students ready for independent reading during the summer

☀️ Many public libraries have reading challenges or activities to engage students

☀️ Parents: don't worry so much about what peaks your child's reading interests as long as their reading and its holding their attention (and it's appropriate!)
