This episode of Shroomed Podcast, we have the Founder and Host of the Oklahoma Mushroom Festival Jacob is a 26 years old mycopreneur that was born and raised in Oklahoma City He is the first in his family to cultivate / forage mushrooms and promises he won’t be the lastJacob also started The Oklahoma Fungi Company in 2020 to provide mushroom cultivation supplies at an affordable price and free educational opportunities for his local community. He adopts a family-friendly approach to education and has organized over 80 mushroom classes, teaching more than 1,800 students since 2021 His passion for mushroom foraging skyrocketed when he found a naturally occurring Psilocybe cubensis mushroom in southeastern Oklahoma Jacob later released the same landrace genetics to the community as “Oklahoma Wild” Fast forward to today, @oklahomafungi , @capt.tripps_ , and @communityfarmz have been spreading these same Psilocybe Cubensis genetics across the country Last but not least, Jacob is also writing the Mushrooms of Oklahoma Field Guide to help enthusiasts identify the native mushrooms that can be found growing in our state
