It’s time for a Mindful Planet - Getting Governments Mindful with Chris Ruane

Chris Ruane is the honorary President of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Mindfulness and is responsible for getting members of Parliament to meditate across the globe. He spent 21 years as a national politician, and 10 years before that as a local politician, and has seen society getting worse. He has experienced this first hand in his former constituency where more than half suffered from mental illness. as seen society getting worse. There are now 50 countries at the government level teaching Mindfulness and Chris is at the forefront of making this happen. From using breath techniques in schools in the 80s to becoming the Founder and Honorary President of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Mindfulness, Chris is calling for a mindful planet as he quotes that Depression will be the biggest burden on this planet by 2030, not mental health.
