Our guests this week are Serena Gonsalves-Fersch and Dr Alaina Szlachta. Serena is the head of SoftwareONE’s Talent Academy – an initiative focusing on developing and employing the next generation of talent across the world, whilst giving back in education and opportunities to local communities. An accomplished and recognised Learning & Talent Development senior leader, Serena thrives in fast paced and exploratory environments where her creative and intuitive leadership are highly valued. She is a Fellow of the Learning and Performance Institute, and currently also a doctoral candidate at Middlesex University, researching into the future of Learning and the L&D function in technology accelerating organisations. Serena has operated globally and across cultures as head of internal learning functions, a management consultant for external clients, and as a service line lead with client/ revenue responsibility. Dr. Alaina Szlachta is a learning architect and mission-driven entrepreneur. She founded the company By Design Development Solutions, helping authors and entrepreneurs translate their unique subject matter expertise into consumer learning products that cause positive transformation. With over 12 years of experience in teaching, instructional design, program management, and educational evaluation, Alaina has proudly served industry experts in higher education, diversity and inclusion, finance, victim services, real estate, healthcare, and software development. When Alaina is not building learning products, you can find her renovating houses, taking long walk-and-talks with friends, and working out with her 82-year-old mentor.
