What happened in Kolkata was horrifying. And the even sadder part is that countless similar acts go unnoticed simply because it was not talked about on the internet or the media didn’t find it hype-worthy. If the media starts focusing on this one topic, it would have to report a case every single minute. Because these monsters are everywhere and such cases are not restricted to just Kolkata. It has started spreading to even the closed homes in the most rural parts of India.

In fact, this issue has become so ingrained in our society that a lot of the time, men’s action are justified even by women - their mothers, grand mothers and this whole argument gets lost in the sea of patriarchal narrative. Ultimately, we let the core issue slide.
