A TWO PART SUNDERLAND OPPOSITION SPECIAL - FRST UP THE WOMENS GAME SUNDAY 1st OCTOBER Justin’s on holiday so Carl and Pete talk to Ant from “Haway the Lasses” and “Roker Report” about the womens game away at Sunderland on Sunday. We hear about their last season and pre season and what formation we might expect to see. Pete talks through our season so far and how we have started playing early on in the season. Does playing occasional games at the clubs “main” ground help boost attendances and how glee did Ant have in his voice when he told us they beat Newcastle Ladies? We discuss who each team have nicked from Oxford United and find out which player reminds Pete of a French International Centre Back. We even think we may have found a YouTube channel to watch the game on and Ant thinks we should try to commentate until we explain how it went last time!! COYH! THE OPPOSITION VIEW - Middlesbrough (Home)

We catch up again with Jonny from the Boro Breakdown podcast and find out about their player departures and a some less expensive and less experienced arrivals. A tricky start to the season for sure but are Boro on the road to recovery after a win vs the Saints, how is Michael Carrick considered. We find out about a different Al(ex) Bangura and here about the sustainable/development model that Boro are adopting and the formation they are playing this season. Pete once again enthuses over fellow old person John Howsen and once Carl’s alarm stops interrupting everything, we find out about the midfielder’s Indian summer. The prediction league is its usual triumph of persistence over wisdom as Jarvis throws a tantrum and makes demands of Ben, John enjoys the delights of Sheryl Crow in a Bayo tribute prediction and Jonny confesses to liking Cocker Spaniel content (Jarvis likes this). Top of the table Justin decides a policy of trying to copy bottom of the table Carl is a good strategy and Pete may or may not be wearing pyjamas. A HUGE thank you for everyone who has voted for us in the Football Content Awards 2023 - for all those concerned we promise our content will not improve in anyway! COYH! TWITTER SPACE - PART TWO - LEEDS UNITED 3-0 WATFORD

TWITTER SPACE - PART TWO - LEEDS UNITED 3-0 WATFORD

PART TWO - We start with Wendover taking out Mrs Wendover out to an Indian restaurant in Leeds named after the Jungle Book and then inspires how we are going to give away the Monkey Forest tickets! Greg was impressed with Leeds Ampadu and we ask does Rajovic need to change, or do we need to change to make the most of Rajovic? Greg concludes that sometimes you get beaten by the better team. We’re joined by Pete suggests that Gino’s plans are an elaborate ground hopping attempt to tick off all the remaining stadiums visited of the 92 league clubs! He goes on to state that the plans of the management of the club are now outdated and unsurpassed by other clubs. Finally, Freddie Adu gets a mention (Peter was highly delighted!) and described as the original John Bostock! Pete asks if the ownership has learnt anything from his mistakes. The Big Lebofski turns up with a list of subjects to go through!!! This includes nightclub advice in Leeds involving Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank! He concedes that Pete is correct and that drummers are not really musicians in the same way that goalkeepers aren’t really footballers. The five-word review includes entirely new words never seen before and a strange 3 piece suite analogy. Thank you to EVERYONE who puts forward their opinion – WHATEVER that opinion is! COYH! TWITTER SPACE - PART 1 - LEEDS UNITED 3-0 WATFORD

Rich joins us very upset at the team performance and attitude displayed by the Hornets up in Yorkshire, Neil observes that Ismael does have a “plan B” switching to 3-5-2 at halftime but sees the silly goals given away but eulogises over the third Leeds goal as a well-crafted goal, We discuss what is the expectation for this squad from the fans and more importantly within the club itself. Uncle Ron joins and, on request, pulls out some positives including effort and heart but moves on to criticise the regime but back the manager and even say he is “overachieving” with what he is working with. Tim phones in from the M1 southbound having been Elland Road and echoes Ron’s thoughts wanting to see more pride in the shirt. Seeing Bachmann’s much praised performance as “just doing his job” – he wants to see more cohesion feeling the QPR and Birmingham wins are the outliers in terms of performance. Pete talks about Hornet fan Mark O’Brien attempting a world record effort for Motor Neurone Disease Charities a disease he suffers with. We salute you sir. Boyd comes on having been pleased with elements of the season until today and asks questions of the squad and their individual performances. Ant then joins us with theme tune for the day…… Part Two out in the morning COYH! This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Do Not Scratch Your Eyes. THE OPPOSITION VIEW - Leeds United (Away)

We're joined by LS11's Darren and talk through Leeds rollercoaster last few seasons which involved erratic Italian ownership, relegation from the Premier League & Players deciding they dont want to play in the Championship - a fair amount in common then!!! Champagne and Gravy, Grazia's tenure and Ken Bates are all covered (not in Gravy) We also discuss Star Wars memorabilia, Darren's radio voice and why he shouldn't really have to put up with such nonsense as the prediction league and then he makes his prediction. Darren we salute you!!! COYH!!! This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Do Not Scratch Your Eyes. The views in this Podcast are not necessarily the views of talkSPORT. Part Two Charlie suggests maybe we should stop comparing to last season now and instead start looking forward, he questions if we look well coached throughout the entire team and performance pointing out our deficiencies in attacking areas in terms of creating chances, preferring instead to pass backward and cause our own problems in defence. Greg makes a really good debut call, based in the West Midlands, and married to a Baggies fan he bemoans Ngakia and Morris’s performances with Leeds coming up at the weekend. Concerned at our defensive fragility he counters that the Baggies fans near him concerns about Ismael have been disproved and would like to have seen Livermore or Kayembe bought in for Porteous with Sierralta dropping rather than bringing on a nervous looking Pollock. Danny joins (with Becky driving) and review a mixed bag of game and rues the Kone chance to make it 3-2 but review his performance and agree his energy and willingness to go forward see him favoured to start again vs Leeds. We agree that overall Bachmann was a force for good (but we reserve the right to have a look at the free kick). For a drier climate we join Vinnie in Dallas and explore watching the game whilst working Bemoaning the mistakes that cost us goals and ultimately points, Vinnie is still enthused with the football we are playing, and we discuss Rajovic’s XG vs his goals (Pete reaches the end of his knowledge of statistics at this point and starts talking about blowing up the old Dallas Cowboys stadium instead. Louis finishes off the evening excited to find out about new travel options from Watford to Clapham and thinks Bachmann could have done better with the free kick but asks about our fullbacks pushing into midfield and asks – does it work? Enjoying the spectacle of the first half he also asks about the bad quality of distribution of the WBA keeper – perhaps Bachmann’s distribution isn’t SO bad in comparison? We go through the 5 word review and long form reviews as ever with some great comments and observations that offer a barometer of the game issues and opportunities by themselves. COYH!! The Big Lebofski pops his “Bunker Cherry”, Wendover is described as both sartorial and ill fitting, Alfie Bumface sorts of make an appearance. We talk about the good, the bad and the ugly unforced errors! Some people think we played well, and others see the tempo as missing and the defensive errors that lead to opposition goals as infuriating! Sean asks if we are too hesitant prioritising possession over creativity. Carl brings up “Otters Pockets” and questions what we can do to feed Rajovic who had little service, Ben Pegram recalls an equally wet game at the Womens game on Sunday and meeting everyone at the bunker too. He considers the starting fullback selection and the lack of crossing to be the deciding factors. Alan looks back at progress issues and last season. COYH!! We finally get to meet the legend that is Kev of "Where's Kev" fame and give him an official appointment! We hear about a chairman taking funds out of a club to fund his other enterprises!! Carlos has problems with the internet, Pete has problems with the name "Carlos" (there are too many apparently) and Justin seems to be having no problems with the prediction league this year - just wait til the last week of the season!!! John combines Backgammon and trampolining and Justin takes issue with Jarvis's backing music this week whilst Ben simply sounds devastated at the scores Jarvis keeps picking out!!
