The Self-Pour Movement: How and Why it Came to Be

The Self-Pour Movement: How and Why it Came to Be

Table Tap introduced the concept of self-pour draft beverages to the United States back in 2006. Not only have we helped pioneer approvals for self-pour across almost all 50 states, but we have also been a driving force in the growth and prevalence of self-pour within taprooms, breweries, bars, and many other types of venues.

In this presentation, we look forward to discussing what factors have led to the proliferation of self-pour systems within the US. One huge contributor has been the surge in popularity of craft beers over the past decade and the more recent surge in popularity of “non-beer” draft options. Another huge contributor has been the COVID pandemic and how that has shifted customer behavior and their desired customer experience.

We recognize that some people have strong opinions on self-pour systems. In this presentation, we will be debunking some of the common misconceptions around a self-pour model. These misconceptions are related to the cleanliness of self-pour systems, the cost of self-pour systems, the benefits of self-pour systems, the features and versatility of self-pour systems, and the impact self-pour has on a venue’s labor and the customer experience. We look forward to educating the group on each of these points!

Table Tap is the first company worldwide to market and sell self-service draft beer technology. Responsible for the launch and proliferation of the Pour Your Own movement in the United States and its “approval” by alcohol authorities in almost all 50 states. Our goal is to innovate and automate taproom operations to improve the bottom line while simultaneously providing the most interactive and engaging customer experience so your patrons come back time and time again.

Table Tap provides solutions for breweries and taprooms across the country. In addition to our flagship WallTender and TableTender self-pour technology, Table Tap also offers draft systems and its own in-house POS system to provide operators with the most turnkey solution on the market. Table Tap is driven by innovation and continues to use the most up-to-date technology within the industry. Cheers, and always remember to #PourYourOwnBeer.
