Former President Donald Trump was indicted by a federal grand jury in special counsel Jack Smith's 2020 election interference probe on Tuesday August 1st, 2023. He appeared in a Washington D.C. courthouse on Thursday August 3rd, 2023 to plead not guilty to federal criminal charges from his actions to overturn the 2020 election. This latest indictment was related to special counsel Jack Smith's investigation into Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election leading up to the January 6th, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol. His next hearing for this criminal case has been set for August 28th, 2023 at 10am Eastern Time.
