KED Talk - From Player to Coach with Christian Filippi

This is the Kendo Enlightened Discourse (KED) Talk series! This is a podcast-style series where we discuss vaguely kendo-related topics or whatever else comes to mind! In this episode, KW's Michael Ishimatsu-Prime talks to Christian Filippi from Italy. Christian Filippi lives in Gossolengo (Piacenza), Italy, and has been training in kendo for over 38 years, during which time he’s represented Italy as a player in nine European Kendo Championships (EKC), five World Kendo Championships (WKC), as well as being coach of the Croatian National Team in three EKC and one WKC. Christian currently holds the rank of Renshi 6-dan in kendo, and has a decorated past as Italian champion four times, European Champion (team) once, 3rd place at the WKC, and a Fighting Spirit at the EKC.
