What is the Internet?

What is the Internet?

The development of the concept of computers in the 1950s brought the data transfer between devices into the agenda. Package designs in the digital network were developed in laboratories in France and England, especially in the USA. While the history of the Internet started in this way, the US Department of Defense started to use the first protocol, ARPANET. The first message sent over this network was sent to the computer of a professor at the University of California in Los Angeles.

As a result of the development work carried out in 1981, ARPANET was given a structure that can be connected to larger networks. Although telex machines used in the 19th century were among the pioneers of digital communication, this was developed in the early 20th century in a modern sense. The first computers that shared networks could allow data flow at the level allowed by the technology of the era, that is, only over two points between the main computers.

Over time, this system has also been developed and the importance of the distance between the main computer or terminals has disappeared. With the discovery of high connection speed, the history of the internet is carried to a different dimension. File sharing between two devices can now be done easily. However, the main problem that arises in this situation is the possibility of damage to the physical network that will provide data flow between two points. The concept of the Internet was pronounced in the TCP protocol by Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn for the first time in history.

The system, which facilitates access to information by combining all networks around the world, was further developed between 1973 and 1980. As of January 1, 1983, ARPANET announced that every device connected to the network must accept the Communication Control Protocol. Shortly after this protocol that laid the foundations of the Internet, especially gov., Com, Edu. An article has been published that talks about extensions such as The article was published by the IETF and the history of the internet has thus entered a new era.

The years 1990 and 1995 were the years when important breaks were experienced in terms of the digital networks. ARPANET in 1990 and another digital network service provider, NFSNET, are now out of date. The "world wide web" that we all know as "www", which comes from the city of CERN in Switzerland, was now providing access to the digital network even at homes. This system, which was a revolution around the world, now allowed many people to benefit from social networks and online shopping.
