143: Adrian Wojnarowski | Boston Celtics Trade Deadline Preview | Sacramento Kings Pre-Game Show w/ Justin Poulin

Think the rumor mill is on fire for the Boston Celtics? Think again.  The media has jumped on possibilities for the Celtics including Denver Nuggets Danilo Gallinari, Atlanta Hawks Al Horford and Houston Rockets Dwight Howard.  Are there serious trade conversations taking place? Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical right now says no...at least not yet.  In fact, should fans be gearing up for the Celtics not even making a major move this deadline? Possibly even this summer.  What about Oklahoma City Thunder Kevin Durant or Los Angeles Clippers Blake Griffin? Are they possibilities.  All this and more with Woj. The Celtics are also back in action today against the Sacramento Kings after a HUGE win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.  LHR chats with Justin Poulin of Celtics Stuff Live to recap the week and preview today’s game on Super Bowl Sunday. 142: Jeff Turner + Chris Forsberg | Boston Celtics Recap v Orlando Magic Pre-Game Show | Kelly Olynyk | NBA Trade Deadline

Have the Boston Celtics turned the cornah?! This won’t be the first time you’ll hear that really annoying cliche phrase! It’s the theme of the latest edition of Celtics Beat as LHR asks that question to himself, to which he answers as well as to ESPN Boston’s Chris Forsberg who’s back in the house. So many questions and so many answers! Have they turned the corner? Whom in the NBA would you trade the Nets pick for? Was it truly beneficial the team made the NBA Playoffs last year? Are Kelly Olynyk and Jae Crowder truly valuable pieces in a trade? Is this team playing an entertaining enough brand of basketball to appease the diehards and entertain casual fans? All of this and more with LHR and Chris. Jeff Turner also re-appears on the show to breakdown the Celtics victory Friday night over the Orlando Magic, as well as look at tonight’s game in the Boston Celtics Pre-Game segment. 141: Bob Ryan | 1986 Boston Celtics Special Edition | NBA Greatest Team Ever

141: Bob Ryan | 1986 Boston Celtics Special Edition | NBA Greatest Team Ever

It’s the 30th anniversary for the 1986 Boston Celtics championship.  Is that the best single season team in NBA history? Bob Ryan, author, commentator, and longtime columnist for the Boston Globe is the most well-regarded individual to answer that question and he’ll join Celtics Beat to offer his take with host Larry H. Russell.  LHR and Bob will relive that season in a way so unique from any other entity.  Are there any arguments as to what teams were better.  What about Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar led Lakers in 1987? Or any of the best Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls teams such as those in 1992 or 1996? Yes, we may be in the midst of the NBA season and LHR will touch briefly upon the week and what lies ahead.  But a special season does call for the occasional special show.  So the tradition-seekers will definitely appreciate the 141st edition of Celtics Beat. 140: Kristen Ledlow | Recap v Indiana Pacers, Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards | 1986 Boston Celtics w/ Skip Perham

After a rough stretch of a lot of losing, the Boston Celtics are seemingly back on track.  Yes, they missed a golden opportunity to really establish themselves as one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference, but the Celtics were at a point where there season could’ve gone ary. However, the season has been a little stale.  The lack of improvement from last year, while not crippling in any sense of the imagination, to the franchise is still agitating to the fans.  If fans are a little frustrated with the lack of improvement thus far, it may be best to check out CSNNE’s series on the 1986 Boston Celtics.  LHR will get some brief words with Skip Perham from The Network.  Consider this a therapy edition of Celtics Beat. To continue in that mold, we haven’t gone Around the NBA in 5 recently. So why don’t we go Around the NBA in about 20? Or better yet, just discuss the two teams that are on a head-on collision to decide the Larry O’Brien trophy (and possibly in January!) - the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs.  We are a week away from what is gearing up to be one of the biggest regular season games in memory, and NBATVs and Turner Sports Kristen Ledlow will stop by for her maiden voyage on Celtics Beat. 139: Brian Scalabrine + Chris Wallace | Recap v Detroit Pistons + Chicago Bulls | Memphis Grizzlies Pre-Game Show

Things are getting ugly for the Boston Celtics.  Right as fans thought they were ready to go on a run with a string of cupcakes on the schedule, the rug has been pulled right from underneath Celtics Nation.  Is it time to panic? Larry H. Russell says no but he’s upset just as anyone should be.  What does guest Brian Scalabrine of Comcast Sports Net have to say? The Celtics will try and get back on track tonight when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies.  As always, Celtics Beat will conduct a pre-game segment.  Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace will join the broadcast once again to give Celtics fans a quick appraisal of the Celtics opponent this Sunday night. 138: Marc Spears | Celtics Stuff Live Reunion | Boston Celtics Week Recap v. New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets

Celtics Stuff Live is back - for now - on CLNS Radio.  Jon Duke and Justin Poulin are reuniting on Celtics Beat as they fill in for Larry H. Russell and discuss...the Boston Celtics.   Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports will join Jon and Justin to discuss the comings and going with the Celtics and Around the NBA.  So much for that long winning streak.  The Celtics suffered an awful loss to the Los Angeles Lakers with Kobe Bryant playing his final game at the TD Garden in Boston.  One would like to think they’ll be able to get back on track against the Brooklyn Nets.   Celtics Beat is brought to you by lynda.com/clns,  audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Casper, American Farmer’s Network, and Harry’s.  Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, January 3rd 2016.  Powered by CLNS Radio. 137: Sean Deveney | Recap v Hornets + Pistons | New York Knicks v. Boston Celtics Pre-Game w/ Chris Forsberg

Final show of 2015 for Celtics Beat.  What an eventful year for the Boston Celtics.  At this time last year, the organization was in no man’s land.  Well, at least they had the Brooklyn picks! But now they have established themselves as a respectable foe in less than one calendar year in the NBA.  Now, what is the next step? Sean Deveney of the Sporting News will return to the show.  It’s all quiet on the NBA rumor mill.  Is that a case of the media not working over the holiday? Is there any trade that could possibly be made? Even something as trivial as David Lee? There has not been a year that hasn’t gone by where Danny Ainge hasn’t made an in-season move so it’s doubtful this year will be different. The Celtics also have a game on tap today back at the TD Garden against Carmelo Anthony, Kristaps Porzingis and the New York Knicks.  Chris Forsberg who will be covering today’s game for ESPN Boston will preview the game with LHR. Celtics Beat is brought to you by lynda.com/clns,  audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Casper, American Farmer’s Network, and Harry’s.  Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, December 27, 2015.  Powered by CLNS Radio. 136: Sean Grande | Boston Celtics v Cleveland Cavaliers + Atlanta Hawks | NBA with Ian Thomsen

136: Sean Grande | Boston Celtics v Cleveland Cavaliers + Atlanta Hawks | NBA with Ian Thomsen

2015 is coming to a close and was a phenomenal calendar year for the Boston Celtics.  Unfortunately, the Celtics suffered what was unequivocally their worst week of the calendar year: A big fat doughnut.  Losses to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Detroit Pistons and the Atlanta Hawks left the Celts with an 0-fer week. Sean Grande, radio play by play voice for the Boston Celtics on 98.5 FM The Sports Hub is this week’s featured guest.  What happened to the Boston Celtics this week? Does this team need to make a trade to shake things up like last year? Or will it be an issue that teams are afraid to trade with Danny Ainge? If there’s nothing to be done, what plagued the team this past week and how do they improve? Ian Thomsen of NBA.com will also stop by to discuss where the Celtics are compared to their peers in the rest of the league.  There have been quite a few trade rumors around the Celtics.  Are these even rumors or are these media dirty tricks? Celtics Beat is brought to you by lynda.com/clns,  audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Casper, American Farmer’s Network, and Harry’s.  Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, December 20, 2015.  Powered by CLNS Radio.
