Episode 191 / Danielle Anderson - Owning Your Narrative

Hey friends! I'm so excited to kick off our October Mini-Series where we'll be diving into some incredible conversations about transparency and storytelling. In today's episode, I'm sitting down with my dear friend Danielle, who's a business coach and strategy consultant based in Nairobi, Kenya. She's been on the podcast before (way back in 2019!) and so much has changed since then. I can't wait for you to hear her incredible journey and how she's helping other women transform their businesses by owning their stories.

  • 00:00 - Introduction

More about our guest today

Danielle Anderson is an international business coach and strategy consultant.

After 10 years in financial services, where Danielle managed strategy at top tier investment banks, she broke away from her corporate chains and founded Step & Stone.

Since 2013, she's been helping business owners make a living, do what they love by getting focused, and gain confidence while gaining customers. And all with simplicity!

Learn more about Danielle's journey in the episode.

  • 04:39 - Challenges Faced by Clients and Practical Advice

Danielle and I dive into the common challenges her clients face as she shares some incredibly practical advice on how to show up as your true self in business. As someone who has struggled with these same challenges—trying to find that sweet spot where I can balance work, passions, and everything else in life—her tips on staying grounded really resonated with me and I think they'll hit home for you, too!

  • 21:34 - Danielle's Journey and Evolution in Business

Danielle shares her incredible journey, from starting her business in 2013 to becoming a digital nomad and navigating major life changes. It's a conversation full of heart, as Danielle opens up with vulnerability and transparency—two things that can feel scary, but are so important.

  • 22:04 - Vulnerability and Transparency in Business

By sharing her approach to telling her story, Danielle drives home the idea that owning your narrative, flaws and all, can be incredibly inspiring to others, whether in a professional or personal context. It's not just about sharing for the sake of sharing; it's about motivating and empowering others through your journey.

  • 23:56 - Current Offerings and Business Strategy

Our key points of discussion included Danielle's current offerings, her reasons for focusing on just two main programs, and the importance of aligning your business with your strengths. It's all about playing to what you do best, and Danielle's insights are incredibly valuable.

  • 33:43 - Importance of Coaching and self-Investing

Danielle asserts emphasis on the importance of having a mentor or coach to guide you through different stages of your business. She shares her own experience with a sales coach, which significantly improved her sales processes and strategies. It's incredible to see how taking that step can lead to not only personal growth but also positive changes in your business.

  • 36:47 - Conclusion

Thank you so much for joining us for this episode. If you loved hearing from Danielle as much as I did, make sure to leave a review and follow along.
