Pivoting Your Playbook (Encore)

Pivoting Your Playbook (Encore)

We’re continuing to bring you the “Best of” Access & Opportunity by revisiting my 2021 conversation with NBA champion turned investor, Andre Iguodala. Andre isn’t just a four-time NBA champ and Finals MVP—he’s the master of the pivot, a key playbook for Access & Opportunity.

While cementing his legacy on the court, Andre began making moves to achieve success off the court, too. In 2010, he ventured into investing, funding companies you know today, like Zoom and Allbirds. In 2021, he doubled down. He started investing in underfunded tech founders as a partner at the Catalyst Fund.

Last year, Andre announced his retirement from the league. But, if his hustle is any indication, he won’t be slowing down anytime soon. Today, he continues to put capital into the hands of overlooked entrepreneurs through MOSAIC, a $200 million early-stage venture capital firm he co-founded.

In this episode, Andre lays out his playbook for building a lasting legacy: by betting on the right people, staying curious, and using every opportunity to open doors for others. It’s a masterclass in making your mark.
