Armed Forces Based Confidential support services (recommended where possible as the staff are based in barracks / stations and understand the armed forces systems and what support / options there are as well as being independent of the chain of command)

Army Welfare Service (Intake and Assessment Team): 01904 882053 Monday – Thursday 0830 – 1630; Friday 0830 – 1600 (out of hours, via unit welfare officer or Staff Duty Officer)

Naval Service Family and People Support (NS FPS): 0800 145 6088 SSAFA (RAF)

Personal Support and Social Work Service: 03000 111723

Unit Welfare Officers are there to support armed forces personnel and their families, and can be a great help and support, however, they are part of the chain of command.

MOD Domestic Abuse Website: www.gov.uk/mod/domestic-abuse-support-for-the-armed-forces (this has all the contact details for support services where ever people are based, links to policy documents, case studies as well as the practitioners handbook which gives details of frequently asked questions)

Civilian based services: The armed forces community can access all civilian based services in addition to the armed forces specific ones detailed above.
