The Embodied Life with Christine Rosen

Being human in a disembodied world. Find us on Youtube. Technology has developed so quickly over the past 15 to 20 years that it can make your head spin. With so many apparent benefits embedded in technological advances, few of us pause long enough to wonder if there might be any costs. Christine Rosen is one person who has realized that human flourishing depends on slowing down long enough to evaluate how our lives have become disembodied. In this deep dive episode of The Bulletin, Mike Cosper sits down with Christine to talk about her new book, The Extinction of Experience: Being Human in a Disembodied World. GO DEEPER WITH THE BULLETIN: We want to hear your COVID-19 reflection. Send a written response or voice memo here. Grab some Bulletin merch! Find us on YouTube. ABOUT THE GUEST: Christine Rosen is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, where she focuses on American history, society and culture, technology and culture, and feminism. Concurrently, she is a columnist for Commentary magazine and one of the cohosts of The Commentary Magazine Podcast. She is also a fellow at the University of Virginia’s Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture and a senior editor in an advisory position at The New Atlantis. Rosen’s opinion pieces, articles, and reviews have appeared in The Christian Science Monitor, Commentary, New York Daily News, Los Angeles Times, National Affairs, National Review, The New Atlantis, The New Republic, The New York Times, MIT Technology Review, Politico, Slate, The Wall Street Journal, Washington Examiner, The Washington Post, and The New England Journal of Medicine. ABOUT THE BULLETIN: The Bulletin is a weekly (and sometimes more!) current events show from Christianity Today hosted and moderated by Clarissa Moll, with senior commentary from Russell Moore (Christianity Today’s editor in chief) and Mike Cosper (director, CT Media). Each week, the show explores current events and breaking news and shares a Christian perspective on issues that are shaping our world. We also offer special one-on-one conversations with writers, artists, and thought leaders whose impact on the world brings important significance to a Christian worldview, like Bono, Sharon McMahon, Harrison Scott Key, Frank Bruni, and more.
