It could have been another tragedy in the air… but when a passenger allegedly tried to open an external door and stab a flight attendant, other passengers knew they had to spring into action. In a move that evoked memories of the passengers on September 11th who kept flight 93 from striking Washington, Steven Fabian says travelers kept this event from becoming a disaster. And medical tourism is not without its risks, and those risks are not limited to the procedures themselves. The nation learned today that the four Americans ambushed just over the border in Mexico had already been shot by the time this video was taken - leaving two of them dead and one injured. Plus, according to FBI crime data property crimes have decreased an average of 33% since 2010. Try telling that to anyone who's been the victim of a crime though, especially if the crime happened at their home. Jim Moret with a look at several robberies that happened… right in the victims’ driveways. Meantime, the lady who worked at this craft store refused to just stand by when she suspected a woman of shoplifting. She confronted the suspect about what was in her bag - wait until you see how much stuff was in there! She was home alone when she thought a rumble was an earthquake. Turns out the jolt happened when a car careened into the teens house. A car driven by former Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson with his new girlfriend in the passenger seat. As Jim Moret reports, he reportedly hit a fire hydrant before he hit the house. And, this is not a flight you want to be on -- with passengers literally screaming in panic as smoke fills the cabin. It happened just seconds after take-off as the Southwest plane bound for Fort Lauderdale struck a flock of birds leading to an emergency landing. As Steven Fabian reports, it’s just the latest scare in the air. Plus, when the now convicted killer, Alex Murdaugh, took the witness stand, he had a big job to do: explain away that video which proved he'd been lying about being at the scene of his wife and son's murders moments before the killings. Some jurors are now talking about the trial...and as Les Trent reports, they say it's that video that sealed his fate. And, Chris Rock clapped back at Will Smith over that headline making “Oscars Slap.” Throwing shade at the star in a live Netflix special over the weekend. The reviews are mostly good, with one critic saying 'it was the best take down ever!" Wearing a tan prison jumpsuit Alex Murdaugh was sentenced to life in prison the morning after the jury found him guilty of murdering his wife and son. It took jurors less than three hours to hand down their conviction. But what was it like inside the jury room? Les Trent has that and much more from South Carolina, including Murdaugh’s attorneys saying that Murdaugh will appeal the verdict. And Alex Murdaugh's dramatic fall from grace ends a legal dynasty that lasted for a century in South Carolina. So how did things go so wrong? Many point to Paul Murdaugh's drunken boat crash that left a teenage girl dead as the beginning of the end. Plus, we're now learning that actor Matthew McConaughey and his wife were onboard that Lufthansa flight that made an emergency landing after hitting severe turbulence. And it's the worst first date ever!  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Enough already, that's pretty much the attitude of people in California who are still stuck, thanks to that record breaking snowfall. One resident is furious that she and thousands of others have been snowed in for a week now - unable to get food, supplies, and medication. And another bombshell in the Alex Murdaugh trial…a juror was tossed off the panel after officials say she'd been discussing the case with others. An alternate juror was seated in her place just in time for the defense to begin its final argument.  Alex Murdaugh has pleaded not guilty. Plus, he was the 24-year-old Orlando TV reporter gunned down at the scene of another murder he was covering. Today his fiancée spoke for the first time delivering some bittersweet news - after losing the love of her life, she's having his baby. And after a college softball player injured herself running the bases, other players stepped in and carried her over home plate - but not her teammates, as Ann Mercogliano tells us, they were players from the opposing team. For more than a month the jury in the Alex Murdaugh murder trial has heard about the family hunting lodge where Maggie Murdaugh and her son Paul were gunned down. Today, they saw it for themselves, amidst incredibly tight security…the jurors were driven to the scene of the crime. This was the last bit of evidence before closing arguments. Alex Murdaugh has pleaded not guilty. And they said they wanted a life away from the royal spotlight, and now that’s apparently going to be even easier for Prince Harry and his wife Meghan. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are confirming today that they've been asked to leave Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle....as the rift in England’s royal family apparently gets even bigger. Plus, the director of the FBI now says the bureau believes Covid-19 most likely originated in a lab in China. It comes after it was revealed the Department of Energy reached the same conclusion. It's a debate that's been a political football from the beginning of the pandemic...and once again former White house Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauci is finding himself under fire. And it's something many strive for, a long and healthy life. Maybe we could learn a thing or two from these guys - the world's oldest living animals.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. When cops arrived on the scene she had one big concern…she wanted to make sure her delivery got there. Plus, disgraced attorney Alex Murdaugh testified he was sometimes taking 60 strong painkillers a day...which calculates to a 50,000 dollar a week drug habit. But is that really possible? Steven Fabian got insight from one of the nation's top addiction specialists Dr. Drew Pinsky. Alex Murdaugh has pleaded not guilty. And a driver ran a red light…and changed the lives of five ballet dancers forever. They had just left practice for their upcoming spring recital, when the crash left them with serious injuries.
