This is not the way you want your vacation to start. A freak storm strikes before a cruise ship even leaves the dock. The winds were so strong everything became projectiles as passengers ran for their lives. And, the US Coast Guard continues to search the ocean bed two and a half miles below the surface where debris from the doomed submersible, the Titan, are scattered about. Though precautions are being taken, so far none of the five victims’ bodies have been found and officials says it may be unlikely that any will be. The disaster is also prompting questions about other forms of extreme tourism, especially the quest to visit space. Plus, two months after Fox News fired Tucker Carlson, we know who's replacing him. Today, it was announced Jesse Watters, a rising star at the network, will be taking over the key primetime slot. And, divers come across all sorts of things but it's not every day a prosthetic leg is discovered at the bottom of a lake. Now the mission: to get the leg back to whoever lost it. Almost exactly one year since Bill Cosby was released from prison, the disgraced comedian has been found liable of sexually abusing a teenaged girl back in the 70s. As Jim Moret reports, the verdict is the first time Cosby's been found civilly liable, and a stunning take down of a man who's been accused of misconduct by scores of women for years. And when it comes to being American, they're right up there with baseball and apple pie; Girl Scout Cookies. So imagine the possibility that a father is using his daughter to hustle people by taking money for Girl Scout Cookies, and never delivering them. Plus, at least one third of the swimming pools in American have had to reduce their hours or even close because there aren't enough lifeguards to keep swimmers safe. It's a consequence of the pandemic, and that's where this granny comes in. She's heading back to the pool to help out. And has the NFL turned a blind eye to a toxic culture? NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was at a congressional committee hearing today looking into allegations that go back at least 20 years of groping and other misconduct at the team now known as the Washington Commanders.  At the hearing Goodell said that “the workplace at the Commanders today bears no resemblance to the workplace that has been described” to the committee. The NFL has fined the Commanders 10 million dollars and Dan Snyder, the team’s owner has stepped down from day-to-day operations. His rep says he didn't attend today's hearing because of business commitments and concerns it wouldn't be fair. The January 6th committee resumed its public hearings today with the focus on the lengths then President Trump went to try to change the results of the 2020 election. Last night, January 6th came up on Steven Colbert's show. He began talking about members of his crew being arrested in Washington while shooting a comedy sketch with triumph the insult comic dog. Les Trent has details. And Britain’s Prince William has become part of the January 6th story, all because of a condolence letter he wrote to the girlfriend of a fallen Capitol Hill police officer. Plus, you may have seen that heart stopping video of a 70-foot yacht on fire as it was heading to dock. Now the couple who own the vessel are speaking with Inside Edition saying the blaze was so intense it was like a fire breathing dragon. And today’s the first day of summer and not only is it the longest day of the year, given the heatwave in much of the country it may also be the hottest. And while taking a dip in a pool is a great way to cool off, when it comes to your pets splashing around comes with a serious warning. More than 19,000 flights were canceled or delayed this past weekend, and the chaos continues today. The stories of frustrated travelers keep coming, including from these newlyweds who were trapped while trying to get home from their honeymoon. Les Trent reports. And President Biden is talking about that tumble he took while bike riding in Delaware. He's blaming the pedals on his bike and experts are backing him up. Jim Moret checked out a similar type of bike to show what went wrong. Plus, another horrific hazing is making headlines, this time from the University of Missouri. Ann Mercogliano reports, a college freshman has been left brain damaged and paralyzed after a hazing incident at one fraternity. It was more drama on the court than anyone at a basketball game bargained for. The ref calling the game collapsed from a heart attack, and one of the players turned out to be a real lifesaver! Steven Fabian has details. And WWE founder Vince McMahon has stepped away from wrestling as the board of the company investigates a $3 million dollar payment made to a former employee with whom he allegedly had a consensual affair. Ann Mercogliano has more on this WWE shakeup. Plus, it was a heartbreaking story: a six-year-old boy hospitalized with severe burns after his family says a neighborhood bully threw a burning ball at him. Authorities said their investigation found no evidence the boy was deliberately injured and no one has been criminally charged. Now the accused kid's family is speaking out and sharing video they say vindicates the child. And she may have been ordered to pay Johnny Depp 10 million dollars after losing that defamation case, but Amber Heard is not going away quietly. She's now issuing a challenge to her ex-husband; if he has a problem with her speaking out post-trial, he should sit down for his own TV interview. Oscar winner Tom Hanks is the first person to admit he has a terrific life, but being a huge star is not without its challenges. One of them came last night, when the actor, out to dinner with his wife Rita Wilson, lost it when someone in a crowd nearly knocked her over. As Steven Fabian explains, Hanks was understandably furious. And the January 6th Committee regrouped today and focused on Donald Trump's efforts to pressure Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Meantime, who is the person caught on camera taking photos around capitol hill the day before the insurrection? Plus, drowning is the number one cause of children’s deaths, and with school out, millions of kids will be flocking to pools. But, because of Covid many children have not had the chance to learn to swim, since community pools were often closed. That’s why this year, swim instructors are working like crazy to make up for lost time! In addition, during Covid we heard a lot about the great resignation, people retiring early. Well as Jim Moret reports, with inflation and fears of a recession, many of those folks are rethinking that!   To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. The nation's oldest national park remains closed after massive flooding forced the evacuation of at least 10,000 tourists from Yellowstone Park. But no evacuation was more dramatic than this one: A pregnant woman was there on vacation, and her mother went to extreme heights to get her to safety. And one of the 31 neo-Nazis arrested outside a Pride parade in Idaho is getting some tough love from his mother. She says she is horrified he’s a part of the far-right group, so she gave him an ultimatum: get out of the group or get out of her house. Plus, they say one never knows the private battles someone is fighting…and that goes for superstar actor Bradley Cooper. And every now and then fans are reminded that baseball is played outdoors.   To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. It was a horrific accident: a mom and her baby mowed down in an alley by a driver. The video is tough to watch, and now the sentence handed down to the young offender is tough for some to understand, especially the mom who was sent flying in the air. He will do only a few months at a youth detention camp, fueling the charge that the local district attorney is soft on crime. And it’s a bucket list destination for many; spectacular Yellowstone Park. Right now, no one can visit because all entrances are blocked due to torrential flooding, and some tourists were actually trapped 'inside' the park when the bridge washed away. Plus, just hours after wowing the audience at the Tony Awards, actor Hugh Jackman is out of commission. He's tested positive for covid for the second time, but Jackman says the show must go on. And she was married to Hunter Biden for more than twenty years, and now she's breaking her silence. Here's what she had to say in her first TV interview.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. She came out the loser in the defamation suit with her ex-husband Johnny Depp and now Amber Heard is speaking about her day in court. Although she was hit with a $10 million judgment...in her first interview since the trial, Heard says she doesn't blame the jury. And hearings of the January 6th Committee resumed today with the focus on election night 2020 - ground zero for the “big lie” that somehow the election had been stolen from Donald Trump. The hearing opened with videotaped depositions of Trump's advisers claiming he had declared a premature victory at the urging of Rudy Giuliani - they also claim the former mayor of New York was intoxicated, which he denies. Plus, while the hearings have brought the threat of militia groups into the spotlight - over the weekend cops say another riot was thwarted. And Justin Bieber just revealed he has something called Ramsay Hunt syndrome, and he says he is hopeful his facial paralysis will improve. We spoke with an expert about his prognosis.
