The Journey of a Canadian Diplomat: Meet Consul General Nadia Theodore

Nadia Theodore was appointed as Consul General of Canada in Atlanta in September 2017 and serves as the head of Canada's diplomatic representation in the Southeast USA. Prior to her appointment as Consul General, she held leadership positions on major Government of Canada Trade initiatives and served as Chief of Staff and Executive Director to Canada's Deputy Minister of International Trade. Additionally, she has served at Canada's Permanent Mission to the World Trade Organization and at Canada's Permanent Mission to the United Nations (both in Geneva, Switzerland).

Consul General Theodore has made advancing inclusion in the workplace a core pillar of her mandate as an executive in the Canadian public service and as Consul General in Atlanta. She is committed to making sure the public sector is included in the global conversation on diversity and inclusion within organizations and the deliberate work to build inclusive teams, including and especially at senior levels.
